Having regained third place from Ebbsfleet United, Dartford followed this up with a 0-1 home defeat to Braintree Town yesterday enabling Ebbsfleet United to regain third place after just two days!

I thought Braintree were a good side when they played Slough in our home game. I was amazed when I saw afterwards where Braintree were in the table. As Bakes has said before, any team can beat any team in this division ie lower/midtable turning over the higher up sides, and Braintree is a a good case in point.

Steve King made 6 changes from their game with us, perhaps he thought he could get away with it?

Either way their supporters are not very happy with the way he's managing the team.

I think Steve King has proved his mettle, given the amount of success he's had over the years. He obviously underestimated Braintree and made a human error with his changes.

A lot of supporters don't know when they are on to a good thing, I wouldn't mind a few of Steve King's signings at Slough !  My only concern where Steve King is as a manager,is that he does seem to spend big to achieve promotion. Perhaps you have to,though. He does bring together good squads, and seems on the ball about the signings he needs to get to put his new team in the higher echeleon,so in this regard Dartford fans ought to count themselves lucky. They are in the play off's and still have a chance to finish third ! What are they moaning at?

Even if they don't achieve promotion this season, they still have great chance next season with Steve King at the helm.

Really not sure if Steve King is a good manager or not.

He's certainly done well at the clubs he's managed but with the budgets to match the successes.

Seems when the money drys up he moves on to another club with the money to spend.

I can't say for definite either. I think he has been to one or two clubs without money, and still done relatively well with them. He certainly has an eye for picking up talent. I don't suppose he is employed cheap, though but he does seem to get success at most of the clubs he's been at.

Braintree Town are the lowest scorers in the division with just 38 goals from 39 matches. From 29th January onwards, they have failed to score in 8 of their 19 league matches. But just like they did at Arbour Park, on their day they put in a sterling performance.

I didn't know that. They need to get a couple of strikers in, like Slough do then !?

The scoreline makes it sound like a real hammering but probably doesn't reflect the game as a whole.

We produced some decent football going forward without that crucial cutting edge to finish off the chances created.

Unfortunately defensively and to a lesser extent in midfield we made far too many mistakes gifting Dartford 3 or 4 of their goals.

The result didn't matter but in front of our second biggest league crowd of the season the scoreline did.

I watched the highlights of Eastbourne Borough 2 Dartford 7 last evening, played before 1,717 at Priory Lane on Saturday.

Eastbourne Borough had not put out a weakened team and much the same as Rebels in the match against Dartford at Arbour Park, they had lots of possession and chances but Dartford were absolutely clinical with chances that came their way.
