Rhodes
Two mouth watering Cup Finals although it seems odd that they have been arranged on the same evening for those who would have liked to attend both: Wednesday 6 April (all kick off 7.45pm) Division One Langford v Ampthill Town Bedfordshire FA Senior Centenary Trophy Final Stotfold v Shefford Town & Campton (at Barton Rovers FC) Hertfordshire FA Senior Centenary Trophy Final Letchworth Garden City Eagles v Chipperfield Corinthians (at County Ground, Letchworth)
domcassells
I'm not usually one to moan about the officials, i totally understand they do a very difficult job, for very little reward, and rarely gain any praise from us, and those that do get fast tracked up the leagues, but you know when the opposition manager says, "focus lads, we got away with one there" that the referee has made yet another error. When they lead to a goal, it's even more frustrating. With the prevalence of games now being filmed, do/can/should the referees review the footage as a cohort and provide constructive feedback on areas to improve, or mentoring to adjust their approach when required? Down a side street, just outside the town centre, it could be easily missed. Behind the goal on entry is a small terrace going about half way up the goal line and this is where the facilities are with a social club, a lounge, food etc. The right goal line holds the main stand which is relatively modern but still unique in comparison to these portable things. The opposite goal line has a covered standing area taking up nearly the whole goal line. The opposite touchline is hard standing which is set slightly below pitch level and the barrier coming up to my chin (I’m 6ft). Game: Very tight game between two decent sides. Leighton were probably the better footballing side but Leverstock were dangerous on the counter and overall had the better chances. A draw was probably a fair result. MOM for me was Leverstock left back Rio Beach (yes that’s his real name) who intercepted and won everything. Ex Pro striker Scott McGleish started at centre back at the tender age of 48. HC, no official figure Programme - sold out Covered standing on 3 sides has been added since my last visit. LGC had a lot of their youth teams in attendance for support, which made for a very noisy main stand. LGC scored in th opening 5 minutes with CC responding just 5 minutes later. The second half saw some good attempts on goal from both teams, CC scored from a penalty and kept the pressure on until the end.
