The Crowing Cockerel
0-0 at ht Catching up with our play-off rivals... Lewes went 2 down against Wingate & Finchley before pulling it back to 2-2 at half-time. Hornchurch have thrice been ahead against Bognor and head into the break 3-2 up. Of interest is the fact that Hornchurch only have 3 subs and have started the game with a midfielder in goal! (Presumably Wright is serving a ban for his red card). The midfielder's (Joe Christou) main experience in goal comes from 5-a-side at training. Bognor's second goal was scored from the halfway line. Bishops Stortford are leading Folkestone 1-0. The Crowing Cockerel
ft 1-0 By my calculations 1 win from the last 4 games guarantees us a play-off spot. With Cheshunt still to play Hornchurch, Lewes and Bishops Stortford, I reckon we might already be there.

Theodopolous
Leese is a genius…to get six wins on the bounce at this stage of the season is quite an incredible feat…. First half was really hard going with the same starting line up and same tactics nothing happened either end…. The game all changed when LDV came on and his corner was headed home by Jerry… that and the introduction of Cass really bought about an onslaught which could have brought about further goals including a spectacular run by Mo which faltered right at the vital moment…. Leese has made some tough calls… leaving LDV on the bench for Taffe must be really hard and although Adam has really grown on me recently his effort in every game is faultless the monotonous high balls pumped towards him bared little reward….. Andy has also got the full backs right and their contribution often goes unnoticed… so that’s it… the playoffs are as good as settled and the manager can say stuff you to all his critics ……

andyetfc
A win is a win but Horsham were not here just to make up the numbers and things could have been different had they taken a couple of their chances.
55 seasons
We are back to the team which looked so convincing up to Xmas! The balance of the side now looks right and we well deserved this win on the second half performance. Luck will play its part in the play offs, but this has been a very good Town side which may yet be our best ever.
littlehampton
Hi guys, what a great result for The Town yesterday, against tough opponents, and to do the double against Horsham, after our memorable 3-4 away win against them back in January. It was always going to be a close encounter, but we won the day to maintain our challenge, whilst some of our rivals lost ground. We might not be top of the Isthmian League Premier Division table, but after losing away to champions elect Worthing, we have won all of our subsequent matches, and now top the League form table, with six straight wins, 18 points, and a goal difference of +9. By any measure that is one helluva record, which should, with four League matches left to play, see us safely through to play-offs, in 2nd or 3rd place, with home advantage. Everyone at our club should be very proud of this achievement. It speaks volumes for all the hard work that has been put in this season, both on and off the pitch, by so many people. We play in a tough, highly competitive league, where we are competing against highly ambitious clubs, many with much larger gates and income than ourselves. Worthing, regularly attract four-figure home crowds, and their attendance yesterday exceeded 1300. Hopefully, if we secure promotion, we will attract much larger crowds next season. We are all in this together, it is a team effort, and it is good to note that at last our manager Andy Leese is getting due praise and recognition for the results achieved this season, and the fantastic amount of work, time and effort he puts in to deliver success for our club, ably supported by Graham, Mario, Ian, and our hardworking Board of directors. Our players have done us proud this season, and you can guarantee they will be playing out of their skins in the remaining four massively important fixtures. Now is the time to turn up the volume, get behind our guys, with plenty of relentless noisy support, both at home and away. They deserve nothing less ! Good luck everyone.
