Maybe it’s quiet because people need time to reflect and are disappointed, nothing wrong with that, better than shooting from the hip!

We are a team in transition, a young team and have done bloody well this season especially when some outside the club predicted we’d finish bottom 2.

As for the relegation talk, that won’t happen, we’ve got enough to not be dragged in.

The bigger picture is the Summer and what happens with the squad in my opinion, I’d go with more youth next season, think it will be exciting but inconsistent.

Just listened to the post match interview.

Have to say with only one striker on the pitch it came as a surprise when Bakes said that we were playing a 4-3-3 formation.

Two weeks running and we've been positive with our starting line ups with no goals to show for it and only a handful of attempts on goal at best.

It's only a thought but with our current squad are we better suited trying to keep it tighter with a 4-5-1 formation?

4-3-3/4-5-1, when you actually break it down they are same system

When you attack it’s a 3 up top, when you defend the 2 wide forwards tuck in making a midfield 5

Totally agree CR.

There must of been more supporters who were at the game who read this forum and so far only one has bothered to give any sort of opinion on the game.

IMO give praise when it's due and when it's not give an honest opinion on what you think went wrong without resorting to slagging any player or the team off.

I was at Dorking and whenever disappointed by a performance/result I try and forget about the game and reflect later. Best way imo!

We were depleted for sure, important players missing and a 2/3 not quite match fit and it showed. We have recently lost experienced players also. Dorking have a very expensive squad with ambition to win the league and get promoted. Their owner/manager/chairman has done an awful lot to get them to this level, so fair play. I expected we would compete as in Maidstone & Ebbsfleet games, however conceding after about 10 seconds is no way to build into a match! At 2-0 there is always a way back, but to concede yet again within a minute of the re-start is awful, game over!

No excuses, although I did feel the pitch was overloaded with rubber pellets which seemed to hold up the ball and which were a contributory factor in the first goal and the pass back (which lead to a penalty). We have the same sort of pitch but ours runs slicker and the bounce of the ball is predictable.

Jonathan North made a couple of bad errors, which is a shame because he's been outstanding recently.

Every keeper in the country has off days and will make errors.

As you say Jon North has been outstanding recently and I'm sure will bounce back from this.

As far as I'm aware we have Scott Davies, Aaron Kuhl, Matt Lench and possibly Kurtis Cumberbatch playing yesterday with an injury, Ben Harris on the bench cannot be anywhere near 100% fit and then we have Tyler Goodrham  and Josh Jackman not able to play due to an injury.

This is not making excuses for yesterday's poor performance but just the facts.

I saw the final score last night but didn't see who had done what. Just looked a few minutes ago at our line up[2pm Sunday] and have just watched the Bakes post match interview. Truthfully, I'm surprised Dorking didn't beat us by a bigger score !

Having such a patched up side, with senior players not fully fit, and only having only one inexperienced forward on the pitch from the start, hardly feels me with optimism, and I'm with Cookham Rebel with this in that Bakes assessment that Slough were playing a 4-3-3 hard to believe.Sounds like stretching the truth.

However, I'm not bothered about this score. At this moment in time,Dorking got a good deal playing Slough.

We as a team have started to lose matches because the squad is threadbare and we cannot replace our better players when injured, as we have hardly any quality to bring in. To me we have cleared the decks too soon to save a few bob. As long as Slough don't get relegated and can afford to get better players in next season, then they will have been right to do this. I'm just surprised Slough fans are still expecting miracles.

Just watched the highlights for the first time and it was worse than I first thought.

Non existent marking, midfield all over the place letting players run at us without a challenge and to cap it off Jon North having a game to forget.

Dorking must of thought all their birthdays had come at once.

Surely we cannot perform that badly again.

Is it me or is that commentator gratingly annoying, keeps getting his words mixed up and at one time he said Dorking were winning 5-2.

Agreed on all counts. The first 10 minutes killed us (both halves, but principally the first!).

Have to agree with you RR  At KO last Saturday Dorking wouldn't have been expecting what transpired We'd  beaten them once and they had had just one league win in the previous 5 games  Our records and theirs were similar  1w 2d 2l no expectation of anything other than a close fought game imo.
