SOME SEE IT AS A MASSIVE MATCH

A former next door neighbour of mine knows what a massive match is. He went to both the European Cup Finals that Nottingham Forest won. He moved to Ross on Wye but on 15th January he drove all the way to York solely to watch Rebels play and see the new York Community Stadium. Of Saturday's match at Arbour Park he wrote this morning, "I am planning on coming". Many Rebels fans travel quite a way to home matches ... let's hope that on Saturday we see a bumper crowd at Arbour Park.

MATCH MASCOT

My friend's grandson 8 years old Gavin Chamdal will be match mascot. He lives in Hounslow but loves coming to Arbour Park with his grandad to watch the Rebels. Please give him a big reception when he leads the team out.

Massive game for Maidstone not so massive for the Rebels.

My attendance forecast is 1,400.

Not sure Maidstone will bring 7-800? I can’t see our support being anymore than 600. I’d say the crowd will be 8-900.

Shredding thinks they will bring around 700.

With Chelsea not playing until Sunday and a team at the top visiting I think the home support will be around 700+

I'll be pleasantly surprised if Maidstone bring 700.

Saturday will reveal the true figure but at this moment of time Glen, I feel that you simply have not got your finger on the pulse.

I expect the Arbour Park crowd to be at least somewhat more than the season's best of 1,106 against Oxford City.

Shredding, you can never accuse Glen of not having his fingers on the pulse ?

'A crowd of at least 1,106' is a bit different to 'a crowd of more than 2,457 is within our reach'.

His crowd predictions have taken a drastic dip, glad he’s not our finance director! It depends on how many Maidstone bring plus the weather. As I said I doubt we’d have much more than 600, so I think 2-300 away fans is realistic for a near 2 hour journey.

"I expect the Arbour Park crowd to be at least somewhat more than the season's best of 1,106 against Oxford City."

I do not consider that that carefully worded statement is "a drastic dip in my crowd prediction". It was simply made in response to Glen's estimate of 800-900.

It would be good to see the negativity amongst some supporters given a massive lift as I do not hear or read any negativity from the club management.

Roll on Saturday!!!

This is my last post on Slough Town v Maidstone United until Saturday evening.

The wording of statements is extremely important to clarify their meaning. My statement of 12th February read, "If every Slough Town regular supporter living in Slough could just get two people along to this massive match, a crowd of more than 2,457 is within our reach."

So without any more criticism of my optimism and calculations,
are you each bringing two people along to this massive match?

I note that my two TOPICS on this match have so far generated 1,097 views so at least I have generaed some extra interest!

Praise the lord.

That made me laugh, Norbert22.?

However,as far as Shredding Green's Maidstone posts, I'm glad he's contributing to the thread. And in general, to this forum,as it is good to get a wide range of views from the Slough faithful on here, and while I'm more into the playing side of the game than statistics, I find Shredding Green's analysis good to have, and he always gives me a good chuckle, too.

One thing's for sure imo our gate will be higher after SGs efforts than it otherwise would have been!  I'm sure a lot of Maidstone supporters will turn up as they see this game as an opportunity to go top  Dorking  have a brilliant home record but their opponents tomorrow Hemel Hempstead have won more away games than any team in our league so no foregone conclusion there.

I do hope a lot of Maidstone supporters are do it your selfersThe driver of their coach was online early afternoon confirming it had broken even and was running but still had availability!

He was also asking what parking was like and was told we had a huge carpark and there would be no trouble!

Saturday morning 10.00am and it's looking a lovely sunny day, hope it stays that way !

Wonder what the Slough team will be today, and what formation we will play?

Should be good to have Ben Harris back for today,if he is fit,he would be in my starting eleven for this game.

Not going to say my line up,as I'm never in tune with who our manager's choose but as this has been a long awaited fixture [well, by Shredding Green's reckoning] I'm going for a prediction of it being either 2-2 draw, or a 2-3 loss but closely fought. Now I've said that, it will more than likely turn out to be a 0-0 stalemate !

Or can we bring our 'A' game to the table and upset the odds and get another win over Maidstone?

Any guesses before the big kick off, Forum-ites?
