3spirit
I'm amazed there isn't a thread already for the Havant home game. I thought the game was worth a few comments. Have I missed them? Are they on another posting? Just watched the Bakes post match Interview and agreed with most of what he said. I, too, thought the draw was the fair result on the day, given the players we had available. I was pleased in the main from what I saw from our team and most of our tactics gave Havant the run around. Josh Jackman took his goal well and as Bakes said he is Slough's most consistent player. In my opinion he should be playing higher[but let's keep that among ourselves,ha ha!], he wasn't my man of the match yesterday though,I thought Scott Davies and Lee Togwell shared that honour. Aaron Kuhl was also on my radar, and in the second half I was mightily impressed with Kurtis Cumberbatch who stepped up to the task when Aaron made way. My only criticism from our play yesterday was that we struggled to get someone in the centre of the penalty area when we made our breaks, and had we had an out and out centre forward to hold the ball up better centerally, and then for Imran and Tyler to play off , I think we may have caused them a few more problems in the second half. You can only play with the players we have available in our squad obviously but in my head I was thinking that when Max Worsfold came on I would have thrown him in that centre area and tinkered a little with our shape by bringing either Mark Nisbet or Freddie Grant into the defence thus freeing Josh Jackman to push forward more or the left but then thats me being gun-ho for the win, and not worrying about Havant and Paul Doswell getting one over on Slough ie a fan's ideal to a manager's one. Other than that, I thought Slough rattled Havant's players, with many of them having heated arguments between themselves and blaming each other, whenever Slough broke through their defensive wall. I was particular pleased seeing this ! Our players were working tirelessly for each other. First half I thought Slough were the better side but second half Havant upped their game and Slough's excitable frenetic play slowed down but Slough still got the odd opportunity to score and any side could have grabbed a winner, so I suppose I must be content with the draw. Guest Wycombe Rebel
There must be a whinge bonus in the Havant players contracts, I thought they were an embarrassment… Thought it was a proper game of football and a fair result… I’m with you 3spirit on the striker topic but as you say we have what we have and when Alfonso doesn’t play we lose that focal point… Imran did a great job up there but he is more of a threat coming in from the right… I love our players, a proper team and with these youngsters keeping on coming in I think the futures bright… Special mention from me for Edon Pruti, gets better with every game I see him and I can’t believe his only 19! Reading Rebel
Agree with most that a draw was probably just about the right result. Contrary to some opinions ideally I think we do need that experienced player/striker to help out some of our younger players like Imran, Alfonso and Tyler to feed off and be that 'man in the middle' or 'fox in the box' when we break forward. Agree with 3spirit, with that type of player playing yesterday we could have caused Havant a load more problems. Of course we do have that type of player in our ranks in Ben Harris but unfortunately his fitness/injury problems seem to follow the same path season after season. Shame that Aaron Kuhl seems to have this niggling injury that forces him off in games because imo he really is the player that makes our midfield tick. Despite taking the lead overall I think a point was a decent result considering our current injury problems.

I tend to believe that some players look to their managers in how to conduct themselves. Whingeing manager whingeing players.

I didn’t think the ref was strong enough, their left winger/attacker was at it all game, should’ve walked
RebelVilla
I notice that the Non League Paper gave the man of the match award to Sam Togwell.

HorshamRebel
It's not the Non League Paper that gives the MoM, it's the home team article writer that submits.
