Very fair assessment, although one slight gripe from me is that firstly they are full time (I believe) and secondly we also played Tuesday, so energy levels can't be an excuse on their part!

Certainly full time training i.e. at least 3 times a week.

Not sure about full time as in 5 days a week and full time wages.

I'd hate to think what the Ebbsfleet wage bill is then.

For the 2019/2020 season their total player & staff costs were £1,367,707, this was a considerable reduction from the 2018/2019 season when it was £2,083,275.

Losses for the two years were £1,678,560 & £2,661,073 respectively.

* latest information from their accounts filed with Companies House. The 2020/2021 results are due to be filed by the end of this month.

Reduced losses from 2.6 mil to 1.6 mil but still have accumulated losses of over 4.3 million.

Hefty reduction in outgoings but still a long way to go before they have a sustainable model.

2020/2021 accounts should make interesting reading.

The accumulated losses stated in the balance sheet at 31 May 2020 are a staggering £14,949,630 which explains where most of the issued share capital of £15,878,186 has gone. Except for the local derbies, home attendances are normally around the 1,106 mark as seen last Saturday against Slough Town. So much for having a rich Kuwaiti behind them after he bailed out the MyFootballClub fan-owned club in May 2013. There have been signifcant improvements made to the stadium since then.

This compares to an accumulated profit at 31 July 2020 in Orchard Community Sports Limited, a company limited by guarantee which operates
Slough Town FC.

He’s funded it for 9 years & probably will continue to do so as I seem to recall he has some interest in the development of the London Resort Theme Park in Swanscombe.

Curtis, is that 9 years to date or in total with some of the 9 years to go?

Not sure having an interest in a theme park will guarantee their interest in a loss making football club.

Further evidence of the timeworn adage-it's not what you've got, it's what you do with it.

This is his 9th season of owning the club, and he’s funded them to the tune of about £2 million every season.

With the funds he’s provided they should be challenging at the very least at the top of the National League.

Which I suppose they are.

But for that sort of money I'd want to win the damn thing not just play-offs.

But as KGB say's money doesn't always buy success it's how you use it.

RR, Curtis said the top of the National League, not the top of the National League South.

From the Ebbsfleet United Football Club Limited strategic report for the year ended 30th May 2020 :-

"The club continues to strive to become a member of the EFL, via promotion from Vanarama National League South and Vanarama National League."

Well, there's plenty of competition to achieve that in addition to the two clubs coming at the end of each season who would like to get back up as quickly as possible.

I think the problem is also the log jam that is created at the top of the National League. With only 2 teams promoted each season, even if Ebbsfleet/Dorking (insert team here) get promoted from the North/South AND slam a load of money in, there really isn't any guarantee they'll be 1 of the 2 each season.

FWIW - that amount of money is mental even if you have it to be plowing into football at this level, especially if you aren't 20 points clear at this point of the season!!!
