v Ebbsfleet

One worrying aspect for me is that we seem to be picking up quite a few injuries with what is an already thin squad.

Am I right in saying that Ben Harris, Aaron Kuhl and Jon North all picked up injuries today?

What with Alfonso, Lenchy and Freddie Grant already side lined we could find ourselves having to draw on even more of our under 23's.

Alfonso was announced as being in our match day squad so not sure when he picked up his injury.

In Ebbsfleets pre match summary they did mention Alfonso and Tyler as ones to watch they were also quite complimentary to the Rebels and really not confident of a win  They were in the middle of a bad patch having lost 3 of their last 5 league games conceding 10 goals in the process so an excellent win by the Rebels but maybe not so surprising.

Alfonso picked up a knock on Thursday with his back, and we thought he would be OK, however he woke up with it really sore, and he failed a fitness test.

Kuhly and Ben will both be fine, Northy had a slight groin strain, hopefully he will just have to rest it this week.

Freddie is expecting to be back training, and hopefully Lenchy may also be.

Superb day out supporting a great club they give there all.

So good to have Scotty with so much experience back playing having a top season.

Well done to all the young lads and  two completely different goals scored by Tyler.

Great support from all the hardy supporters who go week in week out getting behind the team what ever the situation.

The 3 defeats in their 'bad patch' were against Dorking, Maidstone and Dartford.

The only unsurprising thing about our win was that when our backs are against the wall we more often than not come up with the goods.

IF only we could play every league game away and against full time teams!!! But seriously that was a tremendous result that I certainly wasn’t expecting and there’s plenty of sour grapes on the Ebbsfleet forum! Some don’t seem to understand the tactic that teams adapt to play a certain way against other sides and this isn’t how they play every game!!! But for me (this win has lit the play off flame just a little…) this big result will mean nowt if we don’t beat Welling next. I still hope we can sign 1 or 2 because our squad is small and a couple of injuries/suspensions and we have to rely too much on the U23‘s. Hopefully Neil or Jon can give us a positive update?

At this moment in time of course not but they are still only 7 points off second spot with a game in hand.

If they were being honest I would say that the vast majority of Slough supporters thought before the game that we were not going to win at Ebbsfleet and as such getting all 3 points was a surprise win.

As far as reaching a play-off spot, consistency seems to be our main problem along with having a thin squad and injuries to key players.

Yesterday along with the win at Havant proves we can compete with the so called big/best teams in this league. As RR says it comes down to consistency which with a small squad will always be tricky. Can Neil or Jon confirm how long we have Tyler and what is the maximum loan amount (i.e. could we keep him until the end of this season?).

Tyler’s current loan period finishes after the Havant game at the end of the month. We will try to extend to the end of the season and we hope they will agree. Tyler is really enjoying it and we believe he would want to stay with us so fingers crossed.

Excellent news if a season long loan can happen.

Post match interview from the Ebbsfleet manager.

Very fair assessment, although one slight gripe from me is that firstly they are full time (I believe) and secondly we also played Tuesday, so energy levels can't be an excuse on their part!
