Hardly the match of the century but nevertheless some interesting points to learn from the highlights.

Maidstone look vulnerable from set pieces with a keeper that likes a fumble.

Maidstone's 1st goal was never a penalty and was instead handball by Jack Barham.

Most of Maidstone's good approach play comes from out wide.

Maidstone were losing 2-1 when Hungerford had a player sent off in the second half.

So in a nutshell I'd say Maidstone were a tad lucky to get the win.

I agree with your every word regarding the penalty, RR.

The last time that Maidstone United lost in the league was 0-1 at home to Slough Town on 6th November. Rebelfollowed that in their next match on 13th November with a 2-1 home win over Dorking Wanderers. In both these matches, Rebelhad Scott Davies, Freddie Grant,
Guy Hollis and Matt Lench were on for the whole match with Warren Harris coming on as a substitute. Add on a couple of bereavements and one can see what an extremely difficult job Bakes and Unders have had recently.

In a time as unprecedented as this, the club needs our support more than ever.

My friend Atma came from Hounslow for both those matches and brought his 8 years old grandson Gavin to his first
Rebelmatch against
Dorking Wanderers. Gavin will be match mascot on 12th March and, just like the club, will be most appreciative of a bumper crowd.

This week, I have completed my emails to every one I know who might come to the match on 12th March and might be able to encourage a few more people that they know to come. Unfortunately, I had to adjust the wording in the emails that I sent after Tuesday evening's match! Let us join the club in doing everything that we can to boost the attendance on 12th March.

Just to recap :-

Promote the match to all your friends. I know, just as the club does, that it's hard nowadays to get Slough people through the turnstiles but if every Slough Town regular supporter living in Slough could just get two people along to this massive match, a crowd of more than 2,457 is within our reach.

Another massive factor in achieving that is that hardly any of the London and local teams from Southern League Premier Division South and above are at home on Saturday 12th March : just Brentford v Burnley and Wycombe Wanderers v Rotherham United.

So as I say - On Saturday 12th March, Be There ... at Arbour Park!

They know what a massive match is in Maidstone.

From the Maidstone United FC website :-

"Hampton & Richmond Borough SOLD OUT

Maidstone United’s final league game of the season is a SELL OUT.

The final batch of tickets were sold within 24 hours of going online.

The interest in this game is quite something. We certainly were not expecting to be going all-ticket.

It looked like sales had plateaued at the backend of last week but following Saturday’s terrific win, the third batch of tickets were snapped up over the weekend."

And the attendance on Saturday was 3,774!!!

This is what is available with your a ticket!

From the Maidstone United website :-

"Maidstone United will be looking to end the season on a high, in front of 4,175 fans, a new record for the Gallagher Stadium. They will be crowned Vanarama National League South champions after this afternoon’s match against Hampton & Richmond Borough.

It’s the Stones first title since winning the Isthmian Premier seven years ago and we will be celebrating in style.

For all of you who have got a much-sought-after ticket, here’s what’s planned after the full time whistle …

We’re asking all supporters to please stay off the pitch once the full time whistle goes, as staff from Sport360 will be setting up the presentation area – in front of the Manchett Main Stand – for the medals and trophy to be presented.

Paul Cable from league sponsors Vanarama will be joining us to congratulate the players and management team and present the Vanarama National League South trophy to George Elokobi and Gavin Hoyte.

After the formal presentation, the players and management will do a lap of honour around the pitch, passing the Town End, riverside and up to the Genco Stand.

Once at the Genco Stand, we will be doing a team photo with all the fans in the background, so stay in position and best smiles please! ?

After that, we will be presenting the manager’s player, players’ player and supporters’ player of the season awards in front of the Genco Stand.

From there, the players and management will continue their lap back to the dressing rooms.

By that time, the party will be getting underway in the Spitfire Lounge. Contrary to ‘car park chatter’ there’s no entrance fee for the party, it’s included in your match admission fee. That said, if you want to buy a player or players a drink, you probably won’t be turned down!!!

Entertainment comes from band : ModerNation, so please stay on and enjoy the celebrations with us.

The obligatory trophy selfies will be available for some of the time – location to be announced.

Final plea : please do not go on to the pitch, even after the presentation and celebratory lap. It is in use the following day for cup finals and six-a-side matches and we need to keep it in tip-top condition.

Thank you for your support with all this and enjoy every moment of the celebrations."
