Then take me up on my offer of coming to chat to me at a game with your concerns.

Rebelade, I learnt my lesson about 11 years ago on this forum and will not go into detailed opinion. All I’ve done is said what I think in small detail and already it’s turning into something it should not. I am entitled to be concerned, happy or whatever. I’ve thought it since we lost 1-0 to Chippenham back in August and I’m not the only one with this chain of thought.

CR, I really don't know why you're reluctant to say what yours and others concerns are.

If not on this forum then have a chat with someone like Ade at a game.

If nothing is said then nothing will get done.

I’m not the voice of the people RR so maybe the club (not the managers), the board, should hold regular meetings with the fan base to allay any concerns that may arise. An in person fans forum.

If you don’t want to share your opinion on a forum then why come on and mention it? Why not just keep it to yourself if that’s the case! Personally I think you’re over reacting, what exactly do you think we should be achieving with our resources? I would say most level headed fans would say mid table is the expectation until we can either:

Substantially increase our crowds

New investment comes on board

Our U23’s development is accelerated

No over reaction here Glen, we’re overachieving because of our excellent managers, I said this many months ago! My concern comes from what happens when our managers ambitions can’t be met, how is the club going to ensure their ambitions can be met. What is the clubs short term, mid term and long term plans to get us in the National League and ensure we stay there. I said on here many months ago that we have an excellent ambitious managers who want to press on and won’t want to stand still, in my opinion that is the whole point of football, to progress, I don’t want to be a fan of a club that is happy to stay where they are, yes plans change but it would be nice to know what the plans for the future are.

If our managers get an offer they can’t refuse and leave, well unfortunately that’s football and happens all the time! You seem to think we should be playing at a higher level? Realistically this is our level now so reaching the play offs is over achieving as you say down to our management and squad. I’m sure everyone would love promotion but with our current resources it’s quite likely we’d come straight back down but I’d still take that for the experience (and hope of beating Maidenhead, Woking, Aldershot…). I don’t believe any fan would want the club to over stretch themselves financially to match your ambitions? We all know from history how close we came to going out of business.

I don’t seem to think we should be playing at a higher level at the moment, again I said this many months ago but I’d like to know if their is a plan in place to get us into the National League in the coming years, which is where we belong in my opinion.

Yes Managers do leave all the time but having given us 9 years of their coaching lives, I’d like to think we have a plan to keep them for many many more years, the pair of them are an absolute breath of fresh air and we should be doing all we can to match their ambition, which could be as high as League 2 with the correct plan in place.

You feel we belong at a level higher but I’d be interested to see how many others think this way? I say this is our natural level unless as mentioned we get a turn of events. 9 years is ancient in football terms so you couldn’t blame our management for leaving if they decided to, of course they’d be disappointment but no one could say it’s not deserved. The club has come such a long way from those dark days why not try to enjoy the fact we play at a decent level in a very good ground with the odd cup run included. It could be a lot worse remember and money in no way guarantees success.

Jeez don’t get all upset because either you’ve not explained yourself clearly or you know I’m right! You don’t think the club is ambitious and felt there should be a plan to play at a higher level correct? Im saying the club doesn’t have the resources to fund this so it’s quite clear we’ll be at this level unless money is invested or we over achieve like when we reached the play offs previously. That’s the crux of it isn’t it? Unless you have something new to add we’ll leave it there otherwise this will go back and forth for eternity!!!

Wow, just wow! How incorrect can you be, have a lovely weekend cherub

This forum will never change, an opinion gets offered that differs from the status quo and that person is shot down by the mafia.

Ok if what I said is incorrect, correct me like any normal person would instead of resorting to child like comments. So in your view if someone doesn’t agree with you or state facts that’s ‘shooting you down’? Now that is a WOW!!!

Before you all draw pistols at dawn, let’s spin this round a little. How much should any club disclose about their future without working on it behind the scenes first?

Dorking announced beginning of the season plans for a new Community stadium, sure they didn’t just go ‘let’s just put it out there’ they would have had plans.

What information do you think the club should release? Should we upgrade the ground for NL level and not get there for 2/3 years?
Genuinely what do you want to hear from us?

Upgrading the ground to the next level would be financial madness! But out of interest what exactly would need to happen to get the NL grade? Also don’t clubs get a specified time frame to carry out the works?

Ok so firstly CR is not the only fan that feels we should be aiming for higher, there’s plenty that think it, in regards to the Bakes and Unders situation I agree with CR , unless the club meets the ambition of our excellent managers we can expect to lose them pretty soon I’d say, and yes that’s based on what I know but like CR I’m keeping that close to my chest, personally I’d like to know what the short, mid and long term planning for our club is ? What exactly can we expect in ambition terms ? Let’s face it we are the ones that stump up for season tickets and how often do you buy something before you know what you can expect from it ? Transparency is a word I hear often in football but not all clubs have that, my last point would be that you seem to think it would be ok to just tread water for the rest of this season ? That is a dangerous notion , I’ve seen many a club that thought they were safe in mid table clock off and slide with disasterous consequences ? you aim as high as you can and if you fall just short then so be it but at least you gave it your best shot , I can’t tolerate going through the motions , sorry mate

CR, there's no mafia involved, it's a two/three way conversation and either you're not making yourself clear on what you see as a problem for the club or Glen and myself included don't really understand what your point is.

If only for my benefit alone try and spell out in simple terms what you think the problem is.

I think that's the problem.

By only mentioning it in small detail only gets people guessing and by the sounds of it guessing wrongly.

You are entitled to be concerned and entitled to your view on the way forward for the club.

Terry Delaney has summed things up perfectly RR.

Good post Terry.

As far as 'treading water' and 'clocking off' goes, some supporters, including myself have said that we can forget about the play-offs for this season, I'm not sure that equates to clocking off for the rest of the season. I'm also pretty sure that our managers have no intention of clocking off.

As for aiming higher, imo every club should have the ambition to aim higher otherwise what's the point.

On the point of aiming higher I'm in the Glen camp in that unless our attendances improve considerably or a rich benefactor comes along it will be very difficult (but not impossible) to get promoted to the national league or the football league.

On the subject of our managers, yes they are ambitious and I'd be very surprised if they settled for the club to just drift along with no plans for short/medium and long term.
