v Billericay

After today's 1-1 draw at Billericay, Havant manager Paul Doswell stated that Billericay are a 'different animal' now compared to earlier in the season.

I think it's now 8 games unbeaten for Billericay who are scrapping for their lives to get away from the foot of the table.

Tough test of character for us on Tuesday awaits.

I think given all the circumstances around the RR, this could actually be the hardest game of the season.

The best thing about STFC (our character) is going to be tested and I have a funny feeling the boys might find another gear in this one.

Certainly hope so.

It'll be nice to avenge our 2-1 defeat at Billericay in what must of been one of our worst performances of the season.

I think we were the better side for the majority of the game, just a bit of bad luck and some good defending prevented us from scoring earlier.

I think Billericay are a much improved side bolstered by some good loan signings.

Pretty certain with the same side they won't be bottom come the end of the season.

In the end it was a well deserved point.

More than well deserved RR! Agreed they are much changed and have a number of experienced players at this level and from above. One way traffic for 90% of the game, just didn't have our shooting boots on.

Agree, if there was anything negative to say about tonight's performance it was our ability to create many clear cut chances and missing a cutting edge.

Apart from that and considering the circumstances I thought we were excellent.

Anyone know the attendance at tonight's 1-1 draw at Arbour Park.

Some interesting comparisons :-

National League South

3,001 : Maidstone United 4 Ebbsfleet United 0
   586 Slough Town 1 Billericay Town 1

Southern League Premier Division South

   174 : Hayes & Yeading United 8 Wimborne Town 1

Being such a short distance I'm a bit surprised the Maidstone attendance wasn't higher.

I was surprised that Mark Nisbet was let off the hook.

Not for the first time in the match, he casually gave the ball away in midfield and the loose ball was picked up by Josh Wright. He passed it to the overlapping right back Tariq Hinds who tore down the right wing and passed it inside to Femi Akinwende who was in a very good position to score although his shot went in off an unfortunate Scott Davies..

Neither Jon Underwood's post match interview nor the match report mention Mark Nisbet's midfield error. The match highlights show the move which led to the goal from the point that Josh Wright picked up the loose ball.
