Game of 2 halves at The Brache, not sure the Jets even came out for the second half having gone in 4-1 up (and having been a goal down).

Commanding first 45 then but pretty much open season on the Jets goal in the second, Crawley Green could easily have scored 10 and I'm not even exaggerating. Chance after gilt edged chance went begging. It's not often a visiting side scores 5 away from home and is hanging on, but that's exactly what Oxhey were. For a long period it was 3-5 and you sensed if the home team put away one of their many chances then an equaliser would follow as sure as night follows day, but unfortunately for them that elusive fourth came as the clock ticked 90, and though there were 5 added (mainly due to a 20 player scrap on the far side after two late tackles in quick succession by the hosts) they couldn't find the net again.  

So a massive escape in the circumstances, and glad to be heading back down the M1 with the points. Must do a lot better to get anything from the next 2 games before these two belatedly meet again in the League Cup, starting with the derby at home to the Hares Tuesday and the small matter of our longest away day next week to the side that's just downed Risborough. There were positives from today, the finishing was pretty good, some of the build up play was very good, Jake Tabor got a cracking goal and Theo Costa had his best game for us.

Easy to get too as not far off M25, Large modern clubhouse, raised stand on one side - wooden and worth a look plus two other bits of cover both with seating in them, pitch has a distinct slope. Rugby club next door and also a bowls and squash club in rural setting. A rugby game was going on on a far pitch, one what looked an even steeper slope.
Scrappy game, with too many stupid stoppages, Harefield scored in the first half and both keepers made a few good saves, second half got even scrappier - and in the end the visitors probably just deserved the win.

DaiIy Dose - Well no offence intended, Risborough Rangers had to lose sometime and I expect it came as a relief to Manager Mark Eaton as he has got the monkey off his back.

Not really sure what is happening. Whether we aren’t texting the right format or if both teams have to submit. We send ours straight away, but our last game was also slow getting through.

as for the game, you weren’t there so no idea who deserved what really ??‍♂️

Munchkin - Well I heard on the grapevine that you were quick out of the traps and caught Pitstone & Ivinghoe cold with an eighth minute goal from a precision free kick by Darryl Smith, after that however the visitors dominated and should have equalised, if not been in front at the break. You had enough opportunities to extend the lead after the interval however paid the price late on when debutant David Murphy was in the right place at the right time to score.

Hadley v Holmer Green 4-0

Another routine day at the office for Hadley, against a spirited, but limited, Holmer Green side who seemed to accept their fate quite early on and concentrated on keeping the score respectable. 

Goals from Solomon Ofori on 11 and 55, Luke Alfano on 31, and Cameron Ferguson on 38 secured the points, making that nine successive league wins for Hadley, with a goal difference of 28-2.

With Leighton continuing to drop points and Risborough finally losing, this could still be a season to remember for the Brickfield Lane faithful.

Three points next Saturday at Bell Close would certainly help.
