So angry and gutted, we deserved more than what we got, the boys did us proud!

The ref was terrible, absolutely terrible, I must’ve watched a different game to him…

The York winner was 3 yards offside and the officiating unravelled from there

It used to be taken for granted in the Amateur Cup that refereeing was, shall we say, a little "different" if you ever had to venture north of Doncaster.

Not able to be at the match but listened to the game on Rebels Radio and have read some views from supporters who were there.

It seems York were much the better side in the first half but for all their dominance only a hotly disputed offside goal separated the two sides at half time.

Second half was a role reversal where we were much the better side without having that bit of luck and a cutting edge up front eventually cost us getting anything from the game.

As for our contenders for MOTM, the only view I've read so far is that our best players on the day were Matt Lench and Scott Davies.

If you listened to the match you would also of heard from Ade what disgraceful officials were on duty.

Booking one of our players for his 1st tackle in the 1st five minutes then having to booked everyone after that all non bookable in game that was not played in a dirty way all of us supporters in line with offside player.

Well done to the team on a valiant display.

Absolutely gutting to lose such a big game to a dubious goal, looking forward to seeing  the video of the goal… it was a fairly even game and it looked like 2 sides who were about mid table in their respective divisions. Not sure where the full time factor is benefiting York as automatic promotion will be very difficult. Yes they have a new stadium but I found it quite bland and souless? Anyway it’s a massive shame we’re out and had we different officials it really could have been a changed result! I just hope with our next 2 league games against the bottom 2 sides we can pick up the 2 wins to get our play off hopes up and running again.

As I said SD I listened to the game on Rebels Radio and obviously heard that the officials were seemingly biased (presumably northern) or just useless in their decision making but I thought I'd leave any comments on them to supporters like you who were actually there.

Can't fault the workrate of the lads yesterday. Worked hard and showed a never say die attitude. Think we could have played another 90 minutes though and not troubled their back line. For all of our endeavour, we rarely looked threatening, and the giant centre backs comfortably dealt with out attacking threat for most of the match.

Left to wonder if we had Ben as an option to mix things up against the defenders. Not to be though.

There were times during the game where you could not see the ball with the mist coming and going why was an orange ball not used.

Harder to see as spectators not not of been so bad for the players.

I make you about right BFR.

Makes it even harder to take that Ben Harris got himself sent off last week.

It was some day out!

The match would have gone straight to penalties if the scores had been level at ninety minutes.

As for the goal, the tall, experienced Clayton Donaldson was lurking between Lee Togwell and Freddie Grant and was probably onside when Sean Newton dispatched the long, curling, perfectly-weighted cross for Donaldson to move onto :-

Sounds like you had a good view of the goal Shredding and on that basis I'm happy to go with your unbiased opinion that the goal was onside.

I was commenting on what I could see from the highlights whereas at the match I was concentrating on Sean Newton and his long cross rather than Clayton Donaldson's position at the moment the cross was made.

That's the point. From the highlights it's impossible to tell either way.

It's water under the bridge now and our full focus has to be on the league.

That most definitely was offside

Definitely? You can not see the position of Morris at the moment that Futcher dispatches the long ball upfield.

I was at that match too! I stayed overnight in Southport and was the first spectator through the turnstiles.
