Groundhopper Base Of The Pyramid was at Dunstable Road this afternoon so there should be some good coverage in the next day or two, I gather that The 61 FC (Luton) made a fist of it with a bare eleven players in testing conditions and after conceding in the first minute.

Division One
Long Crendon 7 Kidlington Reserves 4

A groundhopper from another Forum was in attendance at this goal fest:

Long Crendon (2) 7
Kidlington Res (3)4
South Midlands One
Admission £5. No paper printer has Covid
Attendance 65 (headcount)
Local derby (is it?) as Crendon play only a couple of miles Kiddy.
Excellent game as Kidlington youngsters matched Crendon in the first period but came under the cosh in the second. Their fourth and the games final goal was excellent.
Kiddies first side had lost 7-0 to Nor Lye yesterday, so not a great week so far for Oxford's northern suburb. Though that said they played some nice stuff and still played well despite having a man (boy) sent off midway through the second half .
Crendon play at Oxford City rather rusty rustic ground, there's only a couple spots under cover that actually give an unobstrutsive view. Today nothing was open other than the turnstiles, not sure why as I understand Oxford City keep all the money except admission.
Crendon play their county cup games at Thame which is only a stone's throw from the village. Sometimes on the second pitch. They are not doing to bad considering they folded and were in a Aylesbury & District lower division a few years ago.
Crendon is home to a dancer who is no longer on Sickley.

Letchworth Garden City Eagles 2 Langford 4

The only new ground tick for me today within a reasonable distance and with good travel options, and it was on!
PIXMORE
LETCHWORTH GARDEN CITY EAGLES 2 Langford 4
SSMLD1
ADM. £5
PROG. £1
Burger with fried egg £3.50

The only new ground tick for me today within a reasonable distance and with good travel options, and it was on!
A swift half of another Winter Ale in the Barrel Vault at St Pancras preceded an equally swift journey on Thameslink, allowing time to visit Letchworth Wetherspoons and see some of the other filming locations from The World's End  before making the 20min stroll to the ground, passing the previously visited Herts FA stadium en route.
Pixmore is your typical Spartan League ground. One home made seated stand will protect you from the elements and there is a modern post and rail surround with an interesting scaffold and netting behind one goal and the rugby club behind the other.
The game offered plenty of goals in the first half, Langford scoring three of them, the last of which, a shot that the home defender only succeeded in heading even further over the top of his already jumping young goalkeeper into the top of the net.
The second half was less lively, in part due to the increasingly heavy pitch that despite no further rain falling had cut up a fair bit by then.
Comfortable walk back for the 1721 train and some warmth. A visit to the Crafty beer shop and micropub was declined on the basis of the beer list.
Home indoors just after 1830.

I bet PetetheGreek took dogs abuse today with that shock scoreline at Coles Park ?

That said Spurs were playing so the fiery board members were probably watching them instead :D So much for Salamis going up :D :D :D

A groundhopper from another Forum was in attendance, was it a 'shock scoreline':
Spartan S Midlands League Premier Div
New Salamis 0 Hadley 4 (H/T 0-3) (At Haringay Borough FC)
Admission: £5 Programmes: on line only Att: 90

This was my first visit to this ground for a league match for over 40 years. My last visit was to see Haringay Borough v Welling United in the Athenian League in August 81. The ground has been somewhat developed since my previous visit and now boasts a large seated stand and an all weather pitch. The latter was partly the reason I chose this match and I also expected a close game with NS sitting 3rd in the table and Hadley 4th. This was far from the case.
The first half hour was fairly even but then Hadley scored 3 goals in 9 mins. On 22 mins Cameron Ferguson put in a good shot from outside the area that hit the post but Jordan Edwards was first to the rebound and hit the ball into the empty net. Just 5 mins later Luke Alfano picked up a ball just outside the area and hit a fine shot to the keepers right which he had no chance of saving. On 31 mins speedy forward Solomon Ofori, who caused the NS defence throughout the match, cut in from the left and hit a shot from inside the area. This took an unfortunate deflection off one of the NS defenders leaving the ball completely out of the keeper's reach as it went in the net. Hadley then got a penalty on 44 mins, perhaps harshly awarded for handball, but the NS keeper pulled off a fine save from the resultant kick.
After the NS keeper's heroics with the penalty he badly let himself down in the 2nd half when on 50 mins Hadley captain Nnamadi Egoli put in a hopeful punt into the area, which the keeper should have taken with ease, but he somehow allowed it to slip through his hands into the net for the final goal. Close efforts by both sides followed but to no avail. Disappointed that there was no information anywhere in the ground as to the line ups. Fortunately Hadley gave a comprehensive listing on their Twitter feed but have no idea who was playing for NS.

Tuesday 28 December
Premier Division
Tring Athletic 2 Leverstock Green 3

A groundhopper from another Forum was in attendance at Cow  Lane and went on to British Airways v Deporortivo Gaicia in the evening:

My original intention was Amersham at 1500hrs but that was scrubbed yesterday. Tring is only 30min further, so I was relieved when they tweeted that their pitch was a good 'un and headed there.
Spartan South Midlands Premier
Grass Roots Stadium - new tick
Tring Athletic 2(2) Leverstock Green 3(0)
Admission: £7 Online prog Attendance: 186
A noisy and feisty derby which had a little bit of everything except a generous helping of quality. Tring had tweeted that the pitch was wet but playable; it was fairly heavy to start and started to cut up as play went on and this hindered any chance of good footy.
The proverbial game of two halves. Both sides hit the woodwork in a frenetic first 15; Tring a bit hoofy and Levy a bit more subtle in their respective play but final 1/3rd play let them down. A poor back pass let Tring in on 34 to slip the ball into the net and a clumsy tackle in the area on 42 meant a penalty dispatched to increase the lead. Generous on balance to Tring but that's how the cards fell.
2nd half, Levy were much the same; dominate 2/3rds and then waste a good opening. The game had been the usual local derby sequence (tackle/writhe about/bellowing from bench/surround official) and it was getting tiresome to watch. Suddenly, tempers boiled and a head-butt went in from a Tring player; a Red on 64. It all changed, as Levy smelt blood and scored three goals in a 12 minute spell from 73; the pick was a fine low volley from 12yds to gain the lead.
I enjoyed it but the end product was like having a fine meal and finding your dessert menu has run out of your favourite.
Into the car with a fodder stop on the A41 plus a 45 minute kip once there to British Airways v Deporortivo Gaicia.

How was it that PetetheGreek was aIIocated this game as he is very good friends with everyone at New Salamis as well as Haringey Borough.

Having seen Salamis twice and Hadley once this season, yes, it was a shock to me, certainly the size of Salamis defeat and with them being at home, plus the noises they have been making about promotion on social media. They won't be so vocal today I imagine.
