The Ladies game was cancelled because Banbury had 6 unfit players, and didn't want to play with the fit players they had (and probably got spanked).

Well Banbury sent in a result that they should have the points saying we were the one that cancelled the game and claimed the points. Do they not think we look at the Website.

Looks like a fine (again) is coming.

A fine for Banbury I assume?

Well,

The Rebels didn't play yesterday as they only have 1 game left, that is on Sunday 13th March against Ascot at Home who are unbeaten at the top of the League.

The Ladies played away to  Abingdon who last week beat the team top of the table.  So with the recent form on paper was going to be a hard game (the reverse fixture at AP was 3-2 win for us).

The game started well as we had the wind behind us (in it's own way was causing us the problems).

The through balls were running wide of the targets and shots were flying over and wide of goal. But as previous weeks all the position and no goals to show.

Then as previous weeks we went a goal down on 25 minutes, again we had most of the ball but the score stayed 0-1 at H/T.

The second half even though we were against the wind, we had the upper hand, but couldn't find an equaliser.

We made a few position changes with 20 minutes to go.

At the same time Nadine twisted her ankle really badly and had to be carried off.

Then in a 3 minute spell (71 to 74) we went from 1 down to 2-1 up with goals from Abi and Lauren, at this time it was all Slough. To put a seel on it Abi Scores her second of the game on 85 minutes.

Full time was 3-1 win.

We are now 4 point behind 2nd place with 4 games in hand. 8 point off 1st with 2 game in hand.

The Banbury game is still showing postponed but we should get the points from that game as they were the no showers.

Yet again a postponed game for the Ladies that 3 games on the trot.

The Rebels lost the last game of the season,  but on the whole season they done great as it was a new harder league and changes in players.

The Ladies had a friendly v Eversley California, Which had a mixture of first teamers and trialists. The Ladies also had 3 of the Rebels in the squad and Harlie played in goal to give Sophie a rested ankle.

The result was a win for Slough 8-1, as of the men conceding the goal in the 90+ mins

Yes it's happened again that's 4 on the trot now postponed.

If we get the points for these 4 games (which should happen)

That will put us 2nd 5 points behind Kidlington, who have finished their games, we have 1 game left.

Which is next Sunday at home v Kingsclere 2pm ko, free entry and the bar will be open for hot and cold drinks.

Please come along to celebrate the season,  and probable promotion.

That'll be 2 promotion in the last 2 seasons.

Excellent season for our rebel Ladies team.

So presumably the top two get promoted?

The Ladies have applied to enter The Southern Region Div 1 North, which is actually 2 steps up.

They had a open trial game today, with present players (Ladies and Rebels), trialist and invited players.

The game went well most of the game was played with only a couple of the Ladies players on at the same time.

At this point I would like to thank Jo Phillips for putting on the gloves, and playing 90 mins between the sticks.

The game was won 5-3 by Slough. 1 goal from a Ladies player the other 4 from trialist or Rebles players.

Looking positive for next season.

There is another open trial on Thursday at AP 7-30 to 9.

We entered another tournament tonight at Ascot.

This was a 6 a side with 8 teams involved. We had 2 from the Ladies team and the keeper from the Rebels the other 4 that made up the squad were 4 players from the trial game on Sunday.

The tournament went 2 league's of 4 with the top 2 go into the semi. Top played second from each league.

We won 1 drew 1 and lost 1 but got though to 2nd on goal difference.

So into the semi,  We won that 2-0.

Into the final which we also won 2-0.

So another trophy (even if there wasn't an actual trophy)

Great run out, getting the jelling together.

Ascot are trying to do this every Wednesday as a fun tournament.
