It's all about opinions but I really cannot see James Warrington as being one of our best keepers.

I'd just say that on his day he was a decent keeper but nothing to right home about.

He could make some decent saves but I think I remember that his kicking let him down.

Bunting and Wilkerson have got to be up there with the best along with Alan Binfield and Chris Reynolds from the sixties.

Bunting was one of my favourites, and such a loyal player. Also remember Graham Cox and Gary Lester bring decent.

Surprised nobody mentioned Jamie Jackson

Ian wolstenhome played in Amateur cup final

Richard Teale joined Staines

Paul Baron joined Plymouth then went on to Arsenal.

Frank Parsons a favourite of mine scored at a windy Wexham Park nobody was going to get past him a right tough entertaining character.

Was Sean Lahiff the Aussie if so can remember standing next to Terry Reardon when we played away at Enfield and Sean was playing as stated not one of our best .

Yes, Sean Lahiff was an Aussie. But no record in the archives of him playing against Enfield.

Jacko is worth a mention and would certainly be rated as one of our better keepers.

Glen - not worried at all if every Slough fan, the team, the management and every person that's ever seen North put on a pair of gloves disagrees or agrees with me in the slightest, I would think my time on the forum would have shown that.

Out of interest, in the past 32 years, who has been worse?

I can't wait to see what Jonathan North is like now. He used to be a superb keeper, one of the best around at our level, so I find it hard to accept that he has gone to pot so quickly. If Slough was losing 6-0 or 7-0 every week I would say you have some justification for slagging him off to this extent,SloughFlyer.  You know I respect your opinion,SF but for me Jonathan North is/was a great signing this season , following on from the hugely talented Jack Turner.

To me all goalkeepers are prone to gaffes but with any goalkeeper it is more about confidence than any other position. I feel Slough at this present time, don't need to be constantly worrying about Jonathan's inabilities,as this season is about the bigger picture, which is about rebuilding the squad we have in a cheaper way than we have done in past seasons, and still staying in the Conference South come the end of this season. North may be having shaky performances but Slough are still winning and drawing games, so is it worth being so negative on such a crucial player in the team?

I will make my mind up about Jonathan North when I start back watching our team after Xmas.

Slough have, in my time watching the team, had some very good goalkeepers between the sticks but have also had a fair share of very ordinary ones, and quite a few dire ones. I can't believe Jonathan North is one of the dire ones. To me, it is not just about saves and conceding goals. Any keeper can go through periods of poor displays but for me, goalkeepers are often about being a character within the squad/team, and you need to be a strong character to turn around form, when things aren't going well. I don't for one minute think we should rush to get Jonathan North off Slough's books yet. I would certainly give him a full season to see if he 'fits' becoming our permanent custodian.

I don't agree with you, Reading Rebel. I see Jacko as a great loyal servant of Slough Town FC and a certainly a character/strong personality but as one of our better goalkeepers, I don't think so. To me he had one really good season, and the rest of the time he was a competent rather than special. No offence mean't to Jacko but I don't view him as among the best goalkeepers to pull on a Slough shirt,in my time of watching the team.

I don't remember Cox but Lester was decent.

Graham Cox got his arm snapped by an awful challenge from Sutton's Lenny Dennis

As for the worst Moussadik and Dom Zepherin will take some beating.

Like Jacko, James Warrington had one exceptional season, when he was class.

To me,Paul Wilkerson was the best Slough Town FC goalkeeper we've had, in my time of watching, in terms of his stature, his saves and his all round game.

Trevor Bunting was a great keeper, too, and such a nice guy off and on the field, that he deserved to be a fans favourite. He was a great servant to our club, and nobody who saw him play could argue that he didn't deserve to be our number one.

I think Jack Turner has also cemented his place as being among the better ones.

Three worth a mention, too, are Gary Lester, Danny Honey and Mark Scott.

Sorry SG but you don't forget when chatting to a player of Terry's calibre at a game we were standing  near to the corner flag at Enfield.

Looking up historical records often encounters inaccuracies and uncertainties.

According to the Slough Town historical records Sean Lahiff played 15 matches for Slough between 1/9/90 and 12/1/91.

Slough were in the Conference in the 1990/1 season and Enfield in the Isthmian League.

Danny Honey was a young keeper who I think came from Holmer Green fc and showed promise.

Not sure if an injury curtailed his career or he just left.

He certainly did ok for us but I wouldn't put him up amongst the best keepers we've had.

I thought we signed him from Reading, at the time we had a few ex Reading?

I meant to say that he certainly wasn't one of our poorer ones.

I'd put Jacko in the 'very capable' keeper class.
