You must be right SG, having not seen it today yours is a far more accurate depiction of what happened than mine (who of course saw it live and in living colour).?.

As for Dartford, being MoM in a 3-0 loss doesn't really fill me with confidence (but I also didn't pass judgement at all, for those hard of hearing at the back, I didnt see the Chelmsford or Dartford games so can't, unlike you, pass judgement on them).

I do like the attempt at "evidence" you have used, but I'm sure you are aware for every good line you can use I can counter with a bad one, hence my opinion of the player in question.

As for spelling his name wrong, im pretty sure you knew to whom I was referring, but if you are unsure, it was our starting goalkeeper on the team sheet today.

What always amuses me with posts such as yours is you clearly believe that your opinion is the correct one (as implied in the accuracy part) and no-one can differ from your view. Unfortunately, thats not the way the world works and as much as you may disagree, my opinion is just a valid as yours.

As I mentioned in my reply to your second post, "Why not balance his mistakes and bad matches in your post with his numerous excellent saves and blocks and good matches."

I was not at Hemel Hempstead yesterday, but I have been to four pre-season friendlies and eight National League South matches watching
Rebels this season.

My reply was written after I had read the twitter match feed and listened to Neil Baker's match interview but before the match report was posted. I quote from that :-
i)
Carruthers almost buried it at the far post but North got a hand to it and did well to keep it out. ii) Castigione’s effort inside the box was well saved by North.

The game, Slough did an amazing job when down to 10 men, the effort that went into that was exactly what a manager(s) would want, blocking overloads in the wide areas through body shape and dictating them to come back into the middle and go the other-side as the middle was nice and compact with the shape, I think only once they created a overload properly in a wide area once during this time resulting in a good cross/opportunity.  Just a shame we couldn't hold on for the 3 points, that Hemel team is much improved from early days in the season and I am sure their home record will improve.

Yep the midfield for 15 mins in the first half got cut through a few times which looked easy but imho this was through some very smart tactics in how there 3 played positionally in possession along with at times some 1 touch pass and moves that where just to hot to handle.  Our midfield three then put a stop to that and gave Hemel there own problems in this area.

In ref to North, imho he is a class keeper, nice and vocal,  saves us way more then the incidents he has had this season, as always goalie incidents are always in bold unfortunately they get remembered and spoke about, but lets remember the amount of times this season he has saved us and each of them are worthy of a goal in stats, think that makes him top goal scorer in his return?

I can not believe the amount of pitches in this league that have slopes on them width wise or length wise, think some clubs need a spirt level in there xmas stocking, unless of course this is they are purposely installed this way to gain an advantage through being use to the slopes.

Hope Kuhl is OK as that looked like one ugly challenge on him.

Firstly, Slough Town in all my years watching have always been blessed with class goalkeepers and Jonathan North is no exception to that.

Secondly,  Hemel had a sloped grass pitch previously so was surprised to see their excellent new one with the same slope!

Possibly down to costs to flatten the pitch or even if it was possible.

Agree we've almost always had good keepers.

Maybe some average/poor ones who filled in or who weren't with us for very long.

You’re something else aren’t ya… Ok my error for using a figure of speech didn’t realise you analyse every word!!! Yes I think the majority will disagree with your assessment and at the end of the… whoops ! it’s the managers’ decision and as they’ve said they completely disagree with you too.

Thanks for admitting the error Glen, I now understand you what you were trying to say.

So on your points SF that makes Jack Turner a crap keeper as in his last season made quite a few bad decisions.

Northy is a very good keeper.

Not in the slightest Epic, Jack Turner was excellent for us and I don't remember anyone at all ever questioning his decision making? He certainly made a few mistakes in his last season (that we were able to watch) and I wasn't ever the biggest fan of the lack of commanding his box that Jack did, but 1 thing you can say is he made match winning saves and ones that couldn't be made by the majority of keepers (Chelmsford away anyone?).

So does Northy play in the Trophy and misses the next league game.

Well down to George, Alphonso for  scoring and Lenchy with one cracking save in goal.

COYREBELS

I wonder if Michael Edegbe will be recalled from his loan when the JN ban kicks in or would we give George Rose a chance? And what happens if either keeper gives a world class display?

North will be the "first choice goalkeeper unless he gets injured" - from Neil's reply to me.

I read that as regardless of good, bad or different form, or any other opportunity being taken by Edegbe or Rose, North is picked unless injured.

Lahiff was a strange one for sure, but I do remember him being MOTM away at Stafford one game...

Sean Lahiff! I am sure I watched him put in an awful performance against Hayes but I can`t see that on the history.  Also Chuck Moussadik!

It might have been his first home match which we lost 2-4 to Fisher Athletic in the Bob Lord Trophy. Here are two excerpts from the match report :-

 i) Sean Lahiff, making his home debut, half punched, half tried to hold a cross, lost it and watched as Paul Gorman hit the post and Gary Blackford followed up to score.

ii) John Docker swept down the Fisher left following a Slough corner, his shot was fumbled by Lahiff and through a melee of players as Hughie Mann fired home.

I can’t agree with Slough Flyer’s assessment of north at all and I think the support he got as he trudged off yesterday shows that most Slough fans are behind him. In the games I have seen (pretty much all home matches and 3 away) he has saved us on countless more occasions than let us down.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I have to say your posts are exceedingly personal SF and come across as something of a vendetta. I’m not sure that an error leading to a goal by any other player would have resulted in such a post after the match. We all have players that we prefer or would rather not play but I’m not sure calling Jonathan or anyone else out in such a way is particularly helpful.

On the wider subject of keepers, my bottom 5 in my Slough watching days would be Chuck MoussyDick, Alan Foster, Richard Barnard, Dominique Jean-Zepherin and Rob Bullivant. Best; Wilkerson, Warrington and Turner (probably Bunting as well but he was coming to an end when I started watching).

It's all about opinions but I really cannot see James Warrington as being one of our best keepers.

I'd just say that on his day he was a decent keeper but nothing to right home about.

He could make some decent saves but I think I remember that his kicking let him down.

Bunting and Wilkerson have got to be up there with the best along with Alan Binfield and Chris Reynolds from the sixties.

As for the worst Moussadik and Dom Zepherin will take some beating.
