After 4 consecutive defeats, (I can’t remember the last time it happened under manager David Keene) nice to get back to winning ways.

Much like most games I imagine, horrendous conditions due to the strong winds. Starting with the wind behind us, we had a lot of possession but struggled to take advantage. After going a goal up, a late first half rocket from the returning Daryl Smith sent us in 2-0.

We were very good 2nd half and controlled the game, eventually running out 3-0 winners.

After the last few weeks it was a welcome result.

Always nice to visit Tring Corinthians and catch up with their chairman Gary Mendham who as usual was carrying out multiple roles. Difficult to put into words what he has done for that club.

Decent addition on the changing room wall as well.

Considering the weather, I had originally planned on going to Horsham but it seemed the storm didn't quite reach Befordshire and I was able to save a plastic option for worse weather. That said it was still incredibly windy and the opening goal for Northampton was a free kick from around half way which was gently put in the wind and flew into the net. Stotfold turned on the style in the second half and scored four decent goals. NSR kept on plugging away against the wind which was a good effort as the manager was only the person in their dugout.
Ground is about twenty five minutes walk in a straight line from Arlesey station. The walk takes you past The Old Oak and The Fox and Duck which were both welcoming if a little light on the ale front. The clubhouse had a great selection of drinks and both the pubs as well as the clubhouse had BT Sports for the early kick off.
Decent programme was produced for the match and having received a PDF version of the programme from my visit to Whittlesey almost two months ago means there has only been one game out of 47 where nothing has been produced.

Decided to complete the SSML D2 by car with me not fancying any of the public transport options. On a bitter day, was a decent game.
The game kicked off slightly late, but 61 started well although they didn't create many chances. The visitors gradually took control and they took the lead on 16 minutes with a low shot from the edge of the are. They made it 2-0 a couple of minutes from the break, taking advantage of hesitant defending to score from ten yards. A minute later, it was as good as game over, the MK #7 hit the post with a curling shot and the rebound was put home. The second half kicked off at 3:07 and it saw the game more even. The 61FC #7 was sin-binned for something he said to the referee as frustrations boiled over. On 80 minutes, the hosts were awarded a penalty and a chance to reduce the arrears but the effort was well saved by MK keeper Tyler McGregor. The hosts rallied but were unable to get on the scoresheet. With it being so cold, I was glad when the final whistle sounded so that I could get back in the warm.
