littlehampton
What a result, and what a really enjoyable cup-tie ! Matches against Southern League Premier division sides are always tricky, hard-fought affairs, particularly away from home, and this FA Trophy First Round Proper encounter, was no exception. Both sides were well prepared for this cup-tie, and The Waders, having beaten Wisbech Town 2-0 away in the previous round, were in confident mood, but Town having previously ko'd Met Police themselves at the QE2 stadium, were up for the challenge. They looked to have the edge for most of this match, and deserved their hard-earned just reward. This was not a match for the faint-hearted. It was a tough, physically demanding contest, against a decent side, and we should all be proud of our our players for delivering this result. It was a great team effort ! Congratulations to Andy, Mario and Ian, in getting us through to the Second Round Proper, a fine achievement, and to the many Towners who travelled up to Bedfordshire for this match. They gave our players brilliant support, from start to finish. Well done everyone, let's hope for a nice home tie in the draw tomorrow.
