Dorking Wanderers H 13th Nov

I'm expecting a really tough encounter against an inform side that are one of the favorites to be promoted.

We've had some good results lately but in truth we are still in a transition period blending in some youngsters with our more experienced players.

As regards the outcome, I think we'll be doing extremely well to take a point from the game.

Not a match to be missed.

Be there!!!

A friend of mine is bringing his grandson for his first visit to Arbour Park.

Just watch the rugby union on i-player when you get home. You won't miss a thing.

Going to be a tough one for sure, but football is a funny old game.  Agree with RR a point would be a good outcome.

Dorking have probably the best winger in this league in Matt Briggs and would be the one to watch out for imho.

To think Matt Briggs was a Rebel for a short period of time and now as you say he's one of the best wide players in the league.

One that slipped through the net.

If I remember correctly he was with us at a pre season whilst there was some problem with his housing but I don't think he put pen to paper   happy to be corrected.

Two teams both in good form should be excellent game Marc White still bleating about his short and long term injuries but his recent results suggests he has adequate cover  I'm expecting a point at least from this one.

Well I did say at least one point!

Brilliant result and the confidence and belief  in each other grows within the squad with every game.

We are just 3 points away from the playoff zone now

Neil&Jon should be very pleased with their squad and themselves!

Dorking first 20 mins the better side clearly playing the ball wider against our compact midfield meaning a lot of running to get out to area for our CM's, however once this was sussed out by the team Slough played some very composed football for the remainder of the half and going in deservedly 2 up.

I have always said in football during stages of the game you have to have a bit of the ball and the second half of the fast half proved that Slough can play through passages of composed passing moves along side our longer ball option, if I may say so better football than Dorking for sure today during that spell.

Second half was always going to be a tough one but this team have some real togetherness and resilience about them and grounded at the result.

Would be interesting to see where Slough would be sitting if it where not down to some poor luck in some of the prior games with last minute winners etc taking points of us.

Had a great day today meeting up with some old mates from the local football circuit.

Up the rebels.

Marc White's  post match interview now on FB  Surprisingly has a lot of good things to say about the Rebels and Jon/Neil and of course still bleating about injuries as he was to local press  but that's part and parcel  we all get that in a season  Try and watch it or maybe one of our computer savvy members can put it on here?

A large part of our game is based upon hard work, effort and playing together as a team.

In the early season games I don't think our fitness levels were adequate enough to play that sort of game for a sustained period of time.

Now we're 13 games into the season and fitness levels are that much higher things look to be different where all the players are putting in a real shift in games and the rewards are there to see.

I hasten to add that I don't think you can get by on work rate alone, you also have to have the quality within the team to compliment it which we most certainly have.

Nothing much to say other than a superb 3 points and in particular a superb team effort and team performance.

Every player to a man put in real shift and got their rewards against a team that I'm sure will be fighting it out for the title at the end of the season.

Must give a mention to our 'behind the goal' support who were at their noisy best the whole game which I'm sure would have spurred the players on in their efforts.

True but some of it was a bit disparaging - "only way they were going to beat us", obviously they're a richer team than us, but we did play football too.
