Baths pre match review is more one of hope than any thing more  than that We are considered a bogey team last  9 games away to us  0 wins 5 draws 4 losses I expect the boost from the H&W win will mean we won't end pointless and hopefully get all three. Incidently they still believe that Slough is In Buckinghshire.!

Even though they did win at AP in the cup.

Personally I never take any notice of past results.

Well thats a bit more like it?

A far improved performance than prior to the Havant game. The team worked hard for each other, chased and blocked as if their lives depended on it and if it hadn't been for a MoM performance from the Bath keeper it could have been a cricket score.

Was very surprised to see how poor Bath were, but perhaps that's a bit unkind to our boys and how well they played. We didn't allow Bath to create virtually anything at all and apart from 1 point blank effort well saved by Jonathon North they really didn't threaten us at all.

Massive shame for Aaron Kuhl about the pen miss, didn't come back to hurt us and was still MoM tonight and had IMO his best game for us. Thought Tenconi looked a very promising addition to the team and if it wasn't for a yard either side in the first half and a post in the second, he could have had a hattrick. The goal he scored was a cracking bit of work and a very composed finish and the Bath defence didn't know how to handle him.

All in all a very positive result but more importantly a very positive performance. Hopefully a couple of additions in key positions could allow us to build on these 2 results and the clearly improved "mood" of the players.

Well done to everyone and bring on Saturday.

The key thing for me was two strikers pressing hard and their movement up front. I think that helped bring the best out of Kuhl and the midfield. It just moved us 10 yards further up the pitch and provided better passing angles. Weak opposition but very good performance and excellent efforts from those behind the goal too.

Very good workman like performance where every player put in a shift.

I wouldn't say Bath were poor because in certain areas of the pitch they played some nice stuff but up front and at the back they were made to look not so good.

Having said that I think you've got to give credit to our lads for not giving them many chances and putting their defence under pressure.

If you had to be ultra critical there were times when we looked a bit lop sided on both flanks giving 2 or 3 Bath players acres of space to attack us.

That said by sheer effort and work rate we either managed to close them down or Bath put in a not so good cross into the box.

Excellent 3 points and a chance to build on this against Concord on Saturday.

COYR!!!!

Morning all.

Up until last Saturday I think it is fair to say that it hasn't been the greatest season watching Slough Town. One bright light for me has been Bakes' and Unders' putting some youngsters in the team, namely Joe and Eitel,

with Michael in goal getting an appearance too.

I've enjoyed seeing their enthusiasm and energy in the team. Things haven't always come off for them on the pitch, but this is to be expected given their inexperience at this level.

The input of youngsters into the team hasn't been as massive as Terry Reardon's team in the 80's, when we had players such as Alan Paris, Gary Attrell, Devon Petty and Vaughan Powell and others regularly playing in the team and at times playing some fantastic football, but it is  always nice to see promising talent given a chance.

More years ago than I would like to remember, I was in the same class at Junior school as Brian McDermott. Whenever we played football at school, even at that age (and this was 6 or 7 years before he starred for the famous Slough Schoolboys team), you just knew that he was something special. You just instinctively knew that he was going to be a bloody good footballer, and he ended up playing for Arsenal in the First Division (as it was then ) and had a great football career.

I am not for one moment suggesting that Alfonso is going  to have as successful a career in football as Brian, but if his first couple of performances are representative of what he can do, then he will  certainly do all right.

It's been a long time since I've seen an 18 year old make such an impact as Alfonso.

He has fantastic pace, last night laid some lovely balls off to team mates, and left some of the Bath City defenders for dead with some superb turns.

He looks a class act.

Come the end of the season it will be so interesting to look back and see how Alfonso has coped with football at this level.

I have a feeling he will have done very well.

On the youngsters the managers kept faith with george hunt and now he is  reaping the rewards getting more confident game by game.

Bakes and Unders have been great with George and have given him a platform to play senior football, showing they believe in him, George only turned 20 in July this year and had 2 massive operations that could have ended his career in 2019 and 2020 the same injury on each leg! the mental strength of this lad on his football journey has made him very resilient with football academies he was with closing down as well on his journey, but there was always a club that knew of him and wanted him and had some sell on fees within his contracts.

When he was 17 he went on loan for 10 games to a step 5 club scoring 6 goals and assisting 7 goals playing as a 10, sticking his toe in the water for senior football prior to signing for AFC Bournemouth.

He was just pushed up to train with with Eddie Howe while he was first team manager at Bournemouth when the first injury occurred.

There is more to come from George goal and assists so you may guess who I am now!!

This guy is doing a pretty good job - I agree with you there. And I think he can play well all season if he works hard enough. But let's not get ahead of ourselves, lest our luck run out on him. Personally, I just like to watch beautiful football and a beautiful game. I wish this guy good luck and victories!

It's well worth watching Gerry Gills post match interview on Bath's website praise for Neil and Jon and their side absolute hatchet job on his side sounds like the Dorking manager everyone underperforming including  himself things must change

The last young Slough striker to make such an impact on his home debut Lloyd Owusu 1996.

Alfonso must keep working hard and not get distracted.

So good to see the youngsters coming in and taking there chances.

Have watched the under 23s game v Bromley on youtube a talented group of lads.
