sdelaney
Payment to enter away games. Are Billercay the only club in our league to get in by card only. Have been told Windsor@Eton is the same as well. Would be good to know all the away clubs we visit and do they take cash only or card payment only at the turnstile. Billericay was a cash less stadium. Having said that we were refused entry by cash until a lady turned up (no idea who she was) and said she'll take our cash. If clubs want a cash only stadium would it be feasible for all staff to wear protective gloves so they could take cash? The other point is if clubs want a cashless stadium because of Covid should they not do the job properly, not half baked and make mask wearing mandatory? sdelaney
Havant did not have concessions to enter the ground. Dave said I come all the way from Slough to the lady at the turnstile and got in for £10 instead of £15.
sdelaney
RR I started this thread on payments NOT mask wearing we have had enough on that subject for two years if you want to wear one that's your choice.

They must be the only club who don't do concessions. No wonder they've got money to burn.

SD, I'm assuming cash less at some clubs is all to do with protecting themselves against covid. Some people were caught out, me included, by not having any payment cards. I think it's reasonable to say if clubs are worried about covid by not taking cash then they should be worried about people not wearing masks. BTW if you watch the news covid is not over and case numbers are on the rise. I still wear a mask going into shops and other closed in spaces. Yes that's my choice unless the Gov make it mandatory again, which they could well do, but personally speaking I think it's entirely sensible for people to still wear masks in certain situations. sdelaney
That's why I thought it be a good that supporters know what system clubs in this league use as not everyone has a card. The supporter who went to Windsor game was told no card no entry how can non league clubs who need supporters turn them away. For the Billericay game I got extra cash out for the day if I knew it was card entry then I would not of got so much out. I still wear mask in shops if needed and if I sit next to someone on the bus and train I will wear if they have one on otherwise I don.t.

That's why I said would it be practical for staff who handle money at these clubs to wear some sort of hand coverings rather than just say no cash card only. If I was on a bus or train sitting next to someone who I don't know from Adam I would wear a mask. It just makes sense to me.

Windsor is 100% cashless across the ground (tea bar, bar and entry) but only when Windsor play. If Virginia Water are at home entry is cash only then the same for the bar etc. A carry over from Covid protocols but the clubs are realising now that cash is costing them more in time, effort and financially than electronic payments. 5 years and cash won't be at any ground IMO. Same as hard copy programs.

Incorrect, Billericay had a turnstile marked "cash only". I paid cash to enter.
Reading Rebel
It was a bit confusing at Billericay. The bloke at the turnstile said cash wasn't accepted but didn't say they accepted cash at another turnstile. Then as I said a women who wasn't on a turnstile appeared and said she could take our money.
