'Great win against our promotion/playoff rivals today'

Nice opening line RW.

Is it a throw away comment or do you really believe it?

I’ve been talking recently on here about being positive and I objected to the term relegation rivals being used so I’m just making a light hearted reference to that.

For now, I just want us all to get behind them on every platform because the efforts deserve that.

I'm pretty sure every supporter on the various platforms are behind the Rebels 100% regardless of what's said.

Personally, I have no problem with supporters mentioning the term 'relegation rivals' so early in the season because it is factually correct even though only 8 games have passed.

I do see your point on the possibility that any negative talk could spread doom and gloom amongst the players and our managers but I would also like to think that our players are made of sterner stuff and any negativity they read or hear will spur them on to prove people wrong.

Hopefully today's result is testament to our players being made of that 'sterner stuff' can ignore any negativity, roll their sleeves up and produce today's type of performance and result.

Just watched the post match interview with Neil from yesterday. Not too sure about the thumbnail on the video?.

Very pleased to hear about the performance and the way we played, good to see and hear the relief that a positive result clearly gave, not just Neil but everyone.

Doubly pleased to hear about Jonathon North, as his biggest critic on here in pleased he had a good game and performed how a 10+ year veteran of this level really should be. 1 swallow does not a summer make, but hopefully that win will give him the confidence to turn around what has been a very poor start IMO.

Was also pleased to hear about Ben and Alfonso playing well together. Perhaps with a potential new striker on the horizon, now is the time to cement a place in the team (although if Freddie Grant keeps scoring 3spirit will want him up front instead??)

Looking forward to Tuesday and Saturday to get a proper look at what hopefully will be a more positive and better performing side against 2 sides that have their issues currently. Fingers crossed we can build on this win and performance to start picking up some all important points.

It was good to hear in the interview Bakes say that Ben and Alphonso played well together.

I would have liked Ade to have asked more on the performance of Alphonso from a managers point of view being that he is only 18 and it was his first game in senior football against one of the promotion favourites.

Interesting post match interview from Paul Doswell.

In general it sounds like a reasonably fair report on the match apart from a couple of points.

On the sending off Doswell maintains it was never a sending off. Having had a glimpse of the incident on the interview my first reaction is that there was a late trailing foot that catches Northy.

Doswell also say's that Ben Harris dived for the penalty which I'm just not having ?

Afternoon All.

I don't normally make comments on here after a game, but there's a few things I would like to say after a great win yesterday which was so unexpected.

Firstly, I thought George Hunt had his best game by far for us yesterday. He has previously appeared to me to drift in and out of games, but I thought  against Havant he always made himself available for a pass from a team mate, and was involved in the  game so much more than in other matches.

Secondly, I have to admit that I have not been a great fan of Aaron Kuhl since we signed him. However, I have to say that his performances this season have made me change my opinion of him. The last few games i think he has been one of our best players, and again yesterday he was constantly involved in the game, working really hard for the entire 90 minutes.  Great penalty too !

Thirdly, I was really impressed with Alfonso. Is he only 18 ? I thought he had a great debut. I can't "read" a game of football as well as Bakes' and Unders',  but to me he looked and moved like a proper striker. I thought him and Ben looked

like they had a real goal threat about them yesterday. Now I've praised him on here publicly, if Alfonso plays against Bath City (as I hope he does), he will probably play like the back end of a pantomime horse, to show that I know bugger all about the game ! He did look good yesterday though !

How did the ref come up with 10 minutes of added time yesterday ? I don't think I've ever seen 10 minutes go up before on the board. And I made it he only played 8 anyway ! Poor refereeing.

And I never knew that we played in orange and black striped shirts until I read that in the Havant programme !

RR- Regarding not asking Bakes more about Alphonso, during our catch up interview Bakes said he didn’t want to put too much pressure on him, so took the decision not to go overboard on his performance, also trying to keep after match interviews shorter and to the point.

As for the referee, Nine yellows he dished out but let some bookable fouls go, he blew up on 97.46 which in hindsight we were very grateful for ?

Is the 1.5 minutes recording of the game on twitter all there is of the game or is there a longer version on another platform.

There are nearly 6.5 minutes on the Havant twitter.

Not impressed with their highlights.

If we dominated and were the better side in the first half the highlights don't reflect it.

Your correct on that point Bakes very poor it just seemed only 1.5 minutes all biased to the home team and not a correct reflection of the game did not see the goals either.

Apologise thought it was Bakes replying to my question.

You watch our videos and listen to Ade on Rebels Radio the action and commentaries are always fair and honest on how the opposition play.

Expect Havant do it to all the opposition and are not the only club it.d like sour grapes.

We are so lucky to support a club that is so fair to the opposition on all issues.

Didnt realise H&W now have 4G pitch.

And with no puddles?. These 3G 4G and top grass pitches of today are so good that players just want to play on them and tackling in anger of years ago is dying out.

You could say the same about last nights game Slough winning playing the ball around Bath losing but still playing attractive footie years ago there would of been tackles going in to disrupt the opposition.

United players of years ago would of got stuck in at 1 nil down v Liverpool but the game of today is changing.

It is good on the eye but not many games you see today are played in anger.

Have a look at some of the clips from Chertsey v Bracknell last night, anger I think would be an understatement??
