You presume wrong again

Karen - Full Time doesn't give the reason for a postponement so I can only make an educated guess, you haven't informed them over on another Forum like you normally do.

I wonder whether Oxhey Jets can continue their impressive revival at Rothamsted Park this afternoon:

I see that Chico Ramos's UEFA A licensed right hand man Krasimir Korsachki left Hitchin Road this week, that doesn't bode well for this afternoon's visit of Hadley especially as I got the impression it was under a cloud from Krasimir's statement:

Harps 5 Jets 1

Game of two halves this, the visitors held their own for the first half and two more terrible decisions cost them dear. Harpenden are a very good, strong physical team, not dirty but they can mix it, and as the game wore on so they nullified the Jets and controlled the midfield, making it a tough afternoon for the defence as there was little respite.

The home side took the lead on 25m, but a nice move down the left saw Kyal Williams centre to left back Daryl Bryan-Samuels to convert on 31. Soon after it might have been 1-2, Sean Giordmaina racing onto a long ball and trying his luck with a lobbed effort from distance which was close. Unfortunately Harps keeper Alex Desmond cleaned him out well after the ball had gone, for which he should have got a red all day long as the last man but just got a yellow.

Shortly before the interval came a bigger turning point, as Vass Mandeville made a clean challenge on the edge of the box, clearly getting the ball. The ref saw it otherwise, and no prizes for guessing what happened from the resultant free kick.

Second half the Harps were well on top in truth, 5-1 flattered them a little but they were well worth the points. A particular low point saw Ferrell Charles nutmegging himself on the line when trying to keep the ball out for the home side's fourth, guess that's my fault for bigging him up but to be fair he did little else wrong. Jets battled to the last to their credit, in the final analysis the young side were largely out muscled today, don't get me wrong, Harpenden can play, they're the best side I've seen this season, but they were just too canny overall. Jets lads didn't play badly, it's just how it is sometimes and they will learn from this game to emerge stronger (hopefully). They will play worse than they did today and take the points.

One positive? No one in a blue shirt got their marching orders, after 4 consecutive reds.

Berkhamsted couldn’t get a side together, which is embarrassing to say the least.

Speaking to a manager up here who is trying to get me out of retirement! He has 35 signed on and went with 12 yesterday!
