You are certainly correct Mark that Michael Gash is miles to good for step 3, however he is also on a very nice contract to play there.

Jake is injured, and very much part of their plans.

We get a number of circulars for players on loans or permanent, some are interesting some not so, we have been in for one that we liked at a club in league above who has scored goals at NLP, and coming back from injury, however have lost out due to location of where the player lives with one of the other clubs coming in for him being closer to his home, that is to a club in our league that he will be going to, plus then same situation with a young striker who again we have lost out to due to the location of where the lad lives.

I have often said why not give Josh a go up front I know when playing wing back it gives him the licence when in a forward position and might add scored some cracking goals doing so. Alan Pluckrose did this in the past and did very well in both positions.

And he give his all.

I agree SD, Josh could play any number of roles for the team. He is a bit wasted at right back in my opinion. I would move Guy Hollis to right back and play Josh on the right wing. I've not seen any games, so my observations are based on the past. I'm itching to get back watching but my health isn't right at the moment, so it won't be happening anytime soon but least I can keep up to date with the Slough Town FC news on here and the club website.

Why not bring in a new centre half and play Guy Hollis up front with Ben Harris for a few games. Guy can head a ball, is strong and not easily shaken off the ball. Get him to close down on the opposition defenders. Would save a few bob for a few weeks and get him up to speed for the winter games[as a defender]. I'm not sure his right peg could hit a barndoor but he is a confident sort of bloke,so I would tell him to shoot on sight of the goalposts.  It would be novel and give the fans a laugh, if nothing else ! ha ha. Also may suit attacking midfielders breaking into the box by making space for them and ease Ben Harris from doing too much physical work, given his injury woes.

Finding a striker and a centre back on Tom Derry's wages will be a tough push, so maybe a bit of out of the box thinking, may lead to a change in fortunes.

I had to check if it was April Fools day.

Have you been on the wacky backy 3spirit ?

I wonder if Guys ever played as a striker before in his whole career.

I think we tried Josh as a wing back a few games ago.

Seemed like a good idea at the time but ended up as a bit of a disaster.

Just seen on Wealdstone’s twitter. I wonder if either are on our radar?

Not sure these two would be good signings.

Both seem to be a bit injury prone.

Danny Parish is a striker but hasn't played a game so far this season due to injury.

Not so much Dan Wishart but his cv says he's a left back.

I did say Josh as a striker not winger.

Hope it’s not Billericay as that’s strengthening one of our immediate relegation rivals. Add to that Hemel (who are bottom) have just signed Dan Wishart from Wealdstone plus Craig King (goalkeeper) from Dartford.

Both are loan signings.

Hemel showing their intent to get away from the drop zone.

Michael Gash playing for Peterborough Sports who remain top of the Southern League Central Division table with 10-0-2 F37 A16 despite pressure from Coalville who recently beat them 6-2 and Banbury United. They top a division in the level below Rebelso are looking ahead to next season.

Tom Derry did score the only goal of the match against Chelmsford City and gained Rebeltheir only three points of the season to date. On that occasion, he turned home a pass from Max Worsfold for a very good goal. Good service and a good finish but I felt on many occasions during his time with Rebel that he didn't receive quality service from which to score.

Yes, it is a wacky idea to play Guy Hollis as a striker, however I don't see it as outlandish. Against Havant we need some muscle up front and who else have you got? I would go to Havant and play a 3-4-3. I wouldn't go there to scrape a draw. To me we have nothing to lose by being positive.

Who knows how Guy would play up front? No ones ever seen it before. I bet Bakes and Unders haven't. My logic is that Slough find themselves in a poor vein of form and not blessed with financial clout to buy better and are going in to play Havant [one of the better financed teams of the division and with one of the most experienced squads] and we've just released one of our main strikers with no sign of a replacement. I know nothing of Joe Lawal or Alfonso Tre... as not seen either play.Ryan Bird is out for,God knows how long ?

Ben Harris needs wrapping in cotton wool currently,as we need his goals more than ever and being he is never fully fit,I wouldn't want him getting hurt and getting embroiled in shinangans with Havant's defenders but I wouldn't mind Guy Hollis challenging at every corner and free kick and tackling in the opposition box and upsetting Havant's defenders. I would then use Ben Harris and one of our other livewire good on the ball players ie Matt Lench or George Hunt to look for openings/shooting chances.

My selection is fantasy football and won't happen but I do feel catching Havant out with a formation change, and tinkering with the type of game we've been playing, might not be a bad thing to change our fortunes. My team would thus be

                       North

           Nisbet  Togwell  Grant

  Jackman  Kuhl  Lench   Worsfold

                        Hunt

                  Hollis    B.Harris

No Mark Nisbet due to injury so I suppose that scuppers the idea of trying Guy Hollis as a striker.

If you looked up defender in a dictionary, you could see a picture of Guy Hollis! A player that genuinely looks like he loves to defend. One of my favourite players but he will never be a centre forward!

As for the mention again of “relegation rivals” i find this ridiculous at this stage.
