Interesting Eddie, I was standing near you and I saw an own goal & looking at the highlights from Billericay I can't see who is offside, especially as it was a cross and their player was first to it.

Agree about Togs, he has no right to win some of those headers over taller players.

You're right Bernie, the last touch is definitely off the Billericay player.

Looking again at our disallowed goal and freezing it at point of contact from Max, it really does look like Tom Derry is the player who is offside.

From Wycombe’s web-site

John Delaney
Position: Central defender Nickname: None
Played: 228 Scored: 65 When: 1969 to 1973 plus 1975/76
Characteristics: Massive force at the back and scored an incredible amount of goals for a defender. A nightmare for the opposition at corners and took the penalties as well just for good measure.
Finest Hours: 17 England Amateur International caps. Wycombe Captain for two Isthmian League Championships. Two goals against Enfield in 1970/71 Amateur Cup game versus Enfield.
Don't mention: Being at Bournemouth when Wycombe beat them in the Second Round of the FA Cup in December 1974. Didn't play in the replay but still an embarrassment for The Cherries.
Life after Wycombe: Spent two seasons in the Football League with Bournemouth before returning to Wycombe for the 1975/76 season. Had spells at Hayes, Tring Town and Oxford City (the last two as Player/Manager) before calling it a day. Still lives locally at Holmer Green.

Spot the two words missing from that bio.

That's my view. Tom was offside and at least made to play the ball

Slough Town?

It was generally accepted at the time, at least in the Southiest part of South Bucks, that he and Bobby Hatt only joined Wycombe because of Charles Hughes' reluctance to select Athenian league players in his England squads.
