I just watched the match highlights because I didn't attend the game on Saturday and it just goes to show that they can be deceiving at times as it looked like we got battered!

I wouldn't say we were battered by any means but first half Ebbsfleet were the better side and second half imo they were by far the better side.

They created a lot of chances but luckily their finishing was a bit woeful.

You're right Bernie in that in some of our losses this season we've been a tad unlucky not to have picked up more points.

After the Billericay we've got some real tough games coming up against Havant, Bath, Concorde, Maidstone and Dorking.

I know it's early day's but with teams around us starting to pick up points Saturday at Billericay is looking like an early season 6 pointer.

I'm glad RR that you recognise Maidstone United (A) as "a real tough game". A friend from Hounslow is hoping to be allowed out on 6th November; if he is successful we will both be at the match. Did you notice that the fine weather brought 2,382 out to watch Maidstone United v Eastbourne Borough on Saturday?

Every games a tough game, some are tougher than others and I do consider Maidstone to be a 'very tough game'.

Hopefully your friend behaves himself if he's being let out on day release from the scrubs.

Not just fine weather but having no premiership games would have been a factor in most clubs with higher attendances.

Just watched the highlights, their penalty was very soft indeed. In fact it looked like a coming together and not a foul. Our "penalty" was as much one as theirs!

Can't hide the fact that we've been beaten by a full time side with a massive squad of players (including an ex Premier League player) some of whom were either on the bench/injured/not selected and who would walk into most National South sides. Such are the resources of some clubs. Full credit to our team for this performance and that at Hungerford.

The Dartford v Ebbsfleet games should be worth watching. Dorking's hopes of promotion currently don't look so good when compared to such teams.

So far we've been beaten by the 2 best teams in the league (imo) and unluckily deprived of points in 3 others. Add to this also that we NEVER beat St.Albans or Chippenham at home!

Beat St Albans 3-2 at the Dolphin in 1972 in one of the most exciting games I've ever seen. But I reckon you knew that 'cos you were there.

Just watched the highlights.

On the 'penalty' it was a simple ball down the middle that caught our defense square.

It looked a bit soft but there was definitely a coming together of legs, I would say some refs would have given it and some wouldn't.

Their second was a very well taken goal but I think the 3rd goal was not a good one to concede.

Probably should have added "within living memory" Dave! Not sure I would have been there actually, very likely to have been playing for Old Paludians if it was a Saturday.

RR What about the decision for not giving us a penalty  in the 2nd half.

It looked more of a penalty than the one given.

The only excuse I can think of for the ref or linesman not giving it is that there was a scrimmaging of bodies possibly obscuring their view.

Nor in mine Holyport Rebel, I think only two of our players did it thankfully.

At least 3 from 6 of our players that were on view took the knee.

I've no problem with players taking the knee or clapping as Aaron Kuhl did but whether it should be on the highlights package is open for debate.

Also brought 3334 out to  watch Dulwich Hamlet v Billericay.
