I wonder whether Harefield United and their talisman Richard Pacquette will throw a spanner in the Leighton Town works this evening:

It's noticeable that Scott Reynolds is out of first gear now with five successive wins:

I guess it all hinges on which Langford bothers to turn up at Elmfields Gate this evening:

Harefield United unsurprisingly lead 1-0 at the interval but surprisingly Louis Bircham was the scorer and not Richard Pacquette:

This evening's result, a one sided affair which included a clinical hat trick from Harry Alexander:

Wednesday 6 October

Thame United Reserves 5 Kidlington Reserves 0

They did.

Leighton have a lot to do if they are going to go up. They’ve done brilliantly to attract a big following, I hope they can keep that.

But no prizes for guessing who scored Harefield United's second goal on Tuesday, albeit from the spot:Billede

Yes, mostly local chavs as we witnessed from the 'On The Road' Blog from last season:

There were some incidents for sure but to be fair there hasn’t been a sniff of it since, perhaps they’ve grown up a bit or some of the older heads had a word. It seems hard to get younger guys into watching local football and they’ve done that well and if they can keep them coming they’ll be in a good position. I’d love to see the average age of a supporter at this level.

In the 'On The Road' Blog I believe the guy Kieran is AlwaysLeighton on here, he sorted the two guys out with complimentary tickets. It's strange he doesn't post anymore and may no longer be involved with the Club in an 'Official' capacity, I've noticed that some Club's don't like Committee members or Officials on the periphery being too 'full on' and trying to 'rule the roost' which he seemed to be doing.

'the average age of a supporter at this level'...

At the Step 5 club I was involved with for a few years, all of the committee were in their seventies, and the average age of the sixty to seventy paying supporters would have been around fifty-five.

Since the return of 'normality', I have been mainly watching Herts County League stuff, with a few Step 5 and Step 6 games thrown in.  At the dozen or so different clubs I have visited this season, I would suggest that at all of them the average paying supporter would be in his late fifties, early sixties.  The single exception would have been a trip to Boreham Wood to see Arsenal U23s, where the crowd, two hundred or so, are mostly under-35s.

I would’ve guessed much the same. When that generation of guys have gone you wonder what will happen.

The Leighton video was class. Made me smile. It was good to see young lads enjoying themselves and bringing an atmosphere to a game. Curbing the language would have been better as I know many adults bring younger children to these games. And many clubs do not tolerate it.
from the games I’ve watch there’s been a real mixed bag of different generations watching.
