v Hungerford

A superficial glance at the table may suggest to some that we've had a poor start with only one win on the first day but imo not really  We've  lost three league games to teams currently 1st  4th and 6th and two of those involved incompetent reffing and downright bad luck Today we responded very well after the Whitehawk debacle and can feel a bit down at the equaliser but imo many signs that the wins will start coming and a climb up the table that goes with that

Gutted about the late equalizer but overall our performance was a million miles better than last week.

We looked a lot more solid as a unit and the players commitment and reaction to last weeks debacle was spot on.

On the game itself I thought Hungerford started the better side but as the first half went on it became a more even contest as we got a foothold in the game.

Second half again Hungerford started the better side with Michael Edegbe having to make a couple of saves with one in particular an excellent flying save across his goal tipping the ball over the bar when it looked a certain goal.

Again we got back into the game and took the lead from an excellent worked goal and a clinical finish from Tom Derry.

The equalizer came after some incessant pressure and crosses into our box which ultimately resulted in a scrambled goal at the far post.

Our players quite rightly took some stick after last weeks performance but today they deserve some praise for their reaction and commitment in getting a well deserved point.

Just a shame we haven't got a game next week to build on this performance.

He was recommended to us and has trained twice. We quickly put him on a league form on Thursday night when it became clear Joe Lawal would not be fit for yesterday due to slight hamstring problem.

He’s a nice lad and a decent player, we just need to be sure he’s right for us and we’re right for him which is why we haven’t formally announced anything.

His CV say's he's a midfielder?
