Bedford joint bosses Gavin Hoyte & Ollie Thorne will have been disappointed with their 3-2 home defeat to Amersham Town last Saturday but should dispose of 'whipping boys' Irchester United, see the match programme:

I wonder whether Risborough Rangers will be feeling the after effects of their shocking capitulation at Ascot United last Tuesday:

I wonder whether Savagebee's 'lovechild' will have his shooting boots on today, if so you have to feel sorry for Crawley Green:

Northampton Sileby Rangers know how to find the net however the 4-0 defeat at Letchworth Garden City Eagles was a mystery two weeks ago:

Dynamos will have to focus on getting points from teams at the bottom like Crawley green.

Unsurprisingly Leverstock Green are the quickest out of the traps with their match report:

Premier Division
Harpenden Town 3 Aylesbury Vale Dynamos 0

A groundhopper from another Forum was at Rothamsted Park, strange about the match programme as Harpenden Town have always 'issued' to use an anorak term:

Spartan South Midlands Football League - Premier Division
Rothamsted Park - Official Attendance: 89
Harpenden Town (1) 3 ...Aylesbury Vale Dynamos (0) 0

Admission - £7 (back to being an adult this week)
Programme - None (just a free teamsheet on offer)
For the second trip running, I was glad of the contingency that I factored in to my travelling time. I was probably less than 10 miles from my destination at 13:30, but didn't enter the ground until about 14:40 after getting caught up in traffic following an accident on the M1. I seriously thought I was going to miss the start of this one.
Rothamsted Park is nothing special as a football venue, but I definitely liked what I saw on the pitch. The hosts played some excellent, slick, quick-passing football to get in behind the Vale defence and create numerous scoring opportunities.
The first goal, just past the midpoint of the first half, was scored by their #8, sliding home a decent cross from their #9. A second goal nearly followed before the break when a looping header from their #4 hit the inside of the post; it looked like the ball was going to drop over the line, but it bounced clear and the officials deemed it hadn't crossed the line. Other chances were created, but then thwarted by the visiting 'keeper.
The hosts started the second-half strongly and had the ball in the net within 30 seconds of the restart. However, the Aylesbury players close by were adamant that the ball had passed through a gap high up in the side-netting and after consulting with both assistants, the referee concurred. A makeshift repair to the net was made and the game restarted with a goal-kick. This wasn't the first netting issue of the day, as a repair had been required at the other end prior to the start of the match. As it happened, it wasn't too long before the hosts grabbed a second; their #7 meeting a cross with a first-time left footed shot which curled deliciously into the far corner. The final goal arrived around 5 minutes from the end after the Aylesbury 'keeper conceded a penalty, having been adjudged to have brought down a player chasing after a loose ball. The spot-kick, taken by Harpenden's #17, was saved, but their #10 was on hand to squeeze home the rebound.
All looking good on the pitch for Harpenden, but perhaps some new goal nets wouldn't go amiss.
