The FA have just announced the draw for the FA Cup First Round Qualifying and we have a home tie against DEREHAM TOWN at the QE2 Stadium on Saturday 4th September KO: 3.00pm.

" The Magpies " play in the Isthmian League Division One North and after the start of the new league season are currently third in the Table.

This an important match for both clubs and the winners will receive £2,250 from the FA Prize Money whilst the losers will receive £750.

An interesting match in store. Let's have a BIG turnout with plenty of support for our guys.

Hi guys, what a great start our team has made to the new season. Unbeaten to date, after an excellent performance and result against Cheshunt on Monday, and FA Cup action to look forward to at the QE2 Stadium this Saturday, when we welcome our opponent's from Norfolk, Dereham Town.

Dereham have a long history, but to the best of my knowledge, we haven't played them before, so an interesting match in prospect for everyone.

"The Magpies" play in the Isthmian League North Division, one below us, and are currently 6th in the Table. In their latest fixture, they lost 2-0 away to Felixstowe & Walton United. Top of the Table, in their Division, are Gray's Athletic who we beat 3-0 at the QE2 in an entertaining pre-season friendly.

The FA Cup is a special competition, and we need to win on Saturday, and progress as far as possible, to maximise FA prize money from this source.

Let's have a BIG TURNOUT on Saturday, and plenty of vocal support and encouragement for our team in this important 'MUST WIN' cup match.

Thanks for reminding me Tom, and for posting some excellent photos of the previous encounter played back in 2014. I wasn't at that match, and I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere in the build-up to Saturday's match, either on their website or our own.

It certainly serves as a timely reminder that we can't take Dereham lightly, even with home advantage, as the men from Norfolk will undoubtedly come to us, with all guns blazing, confident of repeating their previous success.  Sure our guys will be fired up for this one, determined to win this one, and progress further in this competition.

Don't miss this FA Cup tie. It promises to be a cracking match. Good luck to Andy and the boys!

OKAY, NOW IT'S YOUR TURN !

With less than 48 hours to go to our FA Cup match against Dereham, what better time to get involved. and share your thoughts with other Town supporters, on how you see the match going, plus the end result.

We have made an excellent start to the new season, have played very well, are unbeaten to date, and have produced some encouraging results against decent Premier Division sides.

Will we make home advantage tell on Saturday, and be in the next round draw on Monday ?

Come on Towners let's have your own predictions on team selection, the score, attendance, etc and get an interesting pre-match discussion going. So what's stopping you?

See you there.  'COME ON YOU TOWN'

Looking forward to our FA Cup tie tomorrow afternoon?

Well, here is some really exciting news ahead of our match against Dereham Town.

The Club has just announced today on the Official website that LYLE DELLA-VERDE has re-signed for us from Welling United, and will be available for selection tomorrow.

Lyle made 22 appearances for us during two Covid-hit seasons, and became a firm favourite with our fans, who will delighted to see him back at the Club.

With no Premier League matches being played this weekend due to the World Cup qualifiers, we hope the Enfield public, along with the many Spurs and Arsenal living in the local area, will come along and support us at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium, for what should be a really exciting FA Cup encounter, in front of a bumper crowd.

Shame you couldn't get to the match Etfckev, you missed an exciting, very enjoyable cup-tie. Dereham are a decent, hardworking side, and we needed a good all round team performance to win this one, and we deservedly won a close encounter to be in the next round draw tomorrow. We remain unbeaten, and have already played teams in the top end of the League table. We have signed some talented players, and the team is shaping up well this season. Keep this up and there could well be plenty of teams looking over their shoulder at Town this season.

My first game of the season, and a decent showing - defensively we looked pretty sound, with all of the back four doing well positionally, winning their duels and limiting Dereham to very few chances. The midfield 3 worked hard, tracked back and broke up place nicely and Percy brings us lots of energy. Whilst we have Mo in the side, we're always going to have a goal threat, but I thought Coker was deservedly MoM - he's quick, direct and looks like he has a final ball too. Still early days, but a lot to be optimistic about if we maintain these levels.

Etfckev, thanks for your comments. Think it best you go to the ETFC official website click on 'FA Cup Success' and read the match report written by Andy Warshaw, which should answer most of your questions. Barney's latest post is also spot-on. A good win...enjoy!
