Unfortunately I couldn't make it last night. Only Lenchy not available from the squad and going by the pre match blurb he won't be available for the Farnborough game on Saturday. Lenchy is one player that we need match fit for the start of the season.
rebelade
Good run out for all the players, first half very solid and good to see how Josh perform at right wing after Wazza came off injured. 2nd half totally dominated first 30 mins , then changed players roles so Lawal and Hodges swapped sides and few other positional changes. Could of had 8/9 but 3 goals offside, poor officiating again and their penalty was very soft. Shame Kuhn is suspended for first 3 games as he’s looked outstanding so far. 3spirit
Thanks for the feedback. Nice to get a supporter's view of the game. Did we play a 4-4-2 all game? Good that Josh got on the score sheet twice. He's no longer young Josh. To me I see him as our best outfield player, given his age, ability and potential. Matt Lench is our best playmaker. I'm glad we've kept the both of them this season. Adding Tom Derry, Jonathan North and Freddie Grant should bring quality to our first eleven. I just wish I had seen some games. I like pre-season normally. I was all set to watch the Hayes and Yeading match, for that to be cancelled and am now unable to make quite a few friendlies, so any news on our team is most welcome. What's happened to Jack McKnight? Has he left the club? Can't remember seeing anything about him leaving.
rebelade
Jack McKnight had an operation at the end of June, not sure where on his body it was but was due to the sciatica he’s been suffering from. Guess his return will depend on his recovery time and any set backs. As for the KL game, have a listen to Bakes’ after match interview, everything you asked is on there

The Burnham game looks interesting if only for the fact that It's the first game under their new stadium name and new 3G pitch and of course the legend that is Manny Williams will be involved for them. Our last pre season game against Aldershot should be a big enough test to give us some indication on how the season might go for us.
Footyfan007
3-1 could easily have been 6/7 goals, bossed the 2nd half - midfield looked solid and full of energy with intelligence, Hunt looks promising clever player and the younger academy lads have great desire and did well throughout the game. North looks a good addition in between the posts, Freddie is not the tallest but the lad competes so well in the air duals.

I think it's fair to say that scoring and conceding goals has been a problem for us in recent times. Lets hope that ''could easily have been 6/7 goals' or 'conceded more sloppy goals' doesn't become the norm once the season gets under way.

Maybe shades of fellow Old Paludian, Micky Bell who was rarely beaten in the air.
Curtis
I just looked Micky Bell up in our archives because I couldn’t remember him..... definitely one for the ‘oldies’, played for Slough from 1965 to 1971
