Reading Rebel
Looking at our fixtures for next season there does seem to be some strange oddities. Firstly there is only one midweek fixture before Christmas. I thought there was call to increase midweek fixtures early in the season to negate any pile up of games due to bad weather. With possible bad weather and possible postponements due to covid causing a fixture pile up wouldn't it of been sensible to cram as many games into the early part of the season as possible? Not sure if it's happened before but there are two games scheduled to be played on a Sunday. The first Sunday game on the 26th December might be unavoidable due to games being close together but as for the game on Sunday Jan. 2nd I'm not sure why it can't be played on the Saturday, Monday or the Tuesday. RebelVilla
Maybe some of the fixtures may be changed by a day if both teams are in agreement, i'm sure that in the past matches scheduled for Easter Saturday were brought forward a day to Good Friday. At New Year, clubs can move games to either the Saturday or Monday if they agree it with their opponents and the league. At Easter, clubs can move games to the Saturday instead of Good Friday. REBEL MATTERS
Normally we have sat, tue, sat, tue etc... for a few weeks. Then again, what is normal now..... The FACup being first midweek game seems to be the current norm. Will always be a weekend game imho.
Reading Rebel
Only having one Tuesday night game before xmas especially in the current climate just doesn't make sense imo.

All the rounds except for the 5th Round Proper on Wednesday 2nd March 2022 are shown on the FA website as initially scheduled for Saturdays.
