U23s

U23s seem to have a good chance of making the semi finals os the suburban league shield. They lead on 10 points having played all their games, the only team who could catch them are Oxford City who would have to beat Chippenham by 4 clear goals to catch up having drawn with them at home previously.

That is correct. The semi-final is on Saturday 5 June and is Abbey Rangers v Slough Town or Oxford City.

Good tight game - a bit feisty at times. 1 down at half time, u23 team including a promising youngster called Scott Davies kept their heads in the second to equalise from the spot and then take the lead with a well taken goal. Abbey Rangers equalised in the aftermath of a saved penalty.

The game then went to penalties with Michael Edegbe making a good save and the team running out 5-4 winners.

Final Tuesday evening at Ascot United FC.

Excellent.

It would be good to give the lads some support so I might well pay a visit to watch the game on Tuesday.

Congratulations to our Slough Town Academy23 side who won the Suburban Shield final 3-2 last night against a very good Aldershot Academy.

A good game to watch, where Aldershot were the better side in the first half and took a deserved 2-1 lead at the break.

Credit to the lads for a tremendous second half fight back eventually winning a close hard fought game to win their first trophy.
