As predictable as the rising of the sun tomorrow morning.

Money from fines that the six Premier Clubs are having to pay for trying to join the breakaway ESL League should be going to pay and clear all fines handed out to every non league club.

Sounds a nice idea SD but not sure why the FA would feel obliged to dip into their coffers just to help out any elite non league club.

Especially clubs who have been found guilty of breaking NL rules.

I confess to a lack of in depth knowledge surrounding the creation of the Step 2 leagues as part of the NL set up, but how is it that voting is so heavily weighted in favour of the National League premier clubs and how is the league sponsorship money distributed (if it is at all)? Why no live TV or highlights of NLS or NLN by BT or anyone else? It appears to me that we compete in the National League without any rights or benefits therefrom.

Time perhaps to dispense with NLS/NLN and for the creation of new leagues at Step 2 within the pyramid. An opportunity to negotiate own sponsorships/TV deals and operate under fairer rules for all.

To be fair there probably isn’t a huge appetite for live step 2 games so you can understand why BT would pass on that (viewing figures for step 1 games probably are pretty low). Step 2 is obviously seen as poor relations regarding voting rights and it’s not right but is it realistically going to change?

Agreed, hence the move to a new league set up.

I think they just look at step 1 as founder members with the NLS/NLN as feeder leagues and just haven't bothered to bring the club voting allocations up to date.

It's about time they did but I wouldn't bet on it.

At least 50% of Step 1 cannot be founder members following years of promotions/relegations!

I'm wondering why the 3 National League clubs who appealled their fines for failing to play games  all received a 50% reduction in their fines  Any ideas?

I think I read something about the appeal from those clubs who had their fines reduced included some mitigating circumstances around positive covid tests.
