The semi finals of the FA Trophy take place tomorrow

Unlike normal times a result has to be produced tomorrow so penalties will be required if neccesary

Hereford v Woking

Notts C  v   Hornchurch

Who do you think/guess the finalists will be?

Good evening Reading Rebel.

I think it was the 2004-5 season final between Grays Athletic (Conference South) and Hucknall Town (Conference North) which was played at Villa Park with Grays Athletic winning 6-5 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

The Grays Athletic manager in that final was Mark Stimson who is now manager of this season's finalist Hornchurch.

Your right SG.

I think at the time Grays were awash with money which propelled them to dizzy heights and now Hornchurch seem to have a money man backing them.

As usual the money dried up at Grays and more than likely the same will happen to Hornchurch.

If so, it's Deja Vu all over again for Hornchurch for people who remember the heady days of Uncle Urchin. Never really forgiven them for being elected to the Athenian League ahead of us in 1959.

Hi guys and gals.

I think we are "well funded" rather than awash with cash - certainly no stupid signings or Dorking-style largesse.  But I agree the Uncle Urchin era is a bit of an embarrassment.  I actually stopped going.

More importantly I love your Athenian League comment KGB.  Now that is what I call a grudge.  Dagenham feel the same by the way.  Apparently it was largely due to the Old Boy Network in the City of London, but massively helped by Romford going professional into the Southern Lg at the same time.

Call that a grudge? I've met people (now long dead) who "hated" Wycombe because they were admitted to the Isthmian League ahead of us in 1921. But, as you describe, it was all a bit of racket getting up the so-called "senior amateur" ladder until proper organised promotion and relegation was introduced and even then there were "ground grading" challenges to overcome.
