Slough v Ebbsfleet

Best of luck to the lads  I think they have a good chance of success tonight  Ebbsfleet have only one win in their last 5 games and that against struggling Concord  Our recent form should have our lads morale up and expecting more point(s).

We are being schooled here.  I fear for the 2nd half.  Dobbo v.quiet.

All that can be said about the first half is that we were headless chickens, Ebbsfleet rang rings around us and deservedly led without getting out of second gear.

We showed more discipline and shape after the break but it took until 80 minutes for us to create a proper chance. Shortly afterwards Ebbsfleet scored with their only meaningful attack of the second half and it was game over.

To cap it off Aron Kuhl gets sent off for a dangerous and avoidable foul.

Results tonight didn't go our way so are looking over our shoulders at Welling (who have a game in hand) again.

Really poor first half from us giving the ball away far too often and if Ebbsfleet had their shooting boots on they would have been 2 or 3 up.

Up front both Ryan Bird and Ben Harris were dropping too deep giving the Ebbsfleet back line far too much time and space to pass the ball around and bring the ball forward to pick a pass.

Despite playing two up front I also think our lack of pace and mobility in attack to shut players down was exposed in the first half.

Much better second half putting more pressure on Ebbsfleet making them look a lot less comfortable.

We were only missing that bit of luck and some better finishing to get on the score sheet.

I know we had to go for it but taking off Lee Togwell left us a bit exposed and Ebbsfleet duly wrapped the game up with an unchallenged second goal.

After our enforced lay-off and Saturdays hard game we looked off the pace especially in the first half, so in hindsight I think we should have freshened it up and made more changes with our starting line up.

But we do have games in hand on the teams above us.

It is as competitive a division as one is ever likely to see.

There simply isn't a bad team in it or one in free fall.

Our last eight league matches : 1-2-5 F8 A16 with three successive aways coming up as long as the matches are played.

Does anyone know what's happened to Ada Okorogheye who is part of our first team squad.

A promising young player who imo we need to give some game time to.

Still injured and a few weeks away.
