Its hard to predict how the lads will play after their enforced lay-off but they really do need the boost of a win and the three points Braintree after propping up the  table for so long have had a mini revival which has put them 1 place ahead of us although they have played 4 more games to achieve that but their improvement has come at home  Their away record is dire just 3/18 pts and they have the worst defensive record in the league  I note a certain Francis Armetey has been in their squad recently and he may fancy reminding us he can play a bit but on balance Im hoping for/expecting  a Rebel success

It is possible that not all the fixtures will be completed this season, and like last season the final placings could be decided on a points per game basis (especially if calls for a temporary suspension of fixtures is successful). It will probably take the completion of an average of at least 75% of the fixtures for this to happen again (an average of 30 matches per club).

That would actually make this fixture far more important, because if Braintree win, they would go above us on a points per game basis.

There is a preview of this game on the Braintree fans forum now  They say they've  not had an away win against us but are pinning their hopes on them having had regular games while they hope we'll  be rusty after a month off.

With our long period since a competitive match & their poor away form, I think the most likely outcome is a draw, and more so because both clubs at present would probably be content with that outcome.

A draw post match would not be a disaster but certainly given that we're at home and our position in the league getting the 3 points would be a big step in the right direction.

Enjoyed watching the stream today and thought it was a good three points against what I thought was a poor Braintree side. However considering the statement put out by the club and the opinions voiced by people on this forum I was surprised to see the mass cuddle by the Slough players after the third goal.

And that is exactly why football should not be played currently with the levels of infections, as it is pure emotion and when you are in the moment struggle to control yourself and think about things.

As I said you can not control people’s habits etc.

Didn't see the game but watched Twitter in the final ten minutes, and that proved rewarding ! ha ha!

Well done Slough for hanging in there and getting an important win under their belt. Congrats to Birdy popping up with the all important goal.

Some managers/coaches micro manage their teams e.g. Braintree! No particular problem with that but the consistent profanities plus coaching right on the touchline and in some instances up to the half way line deserved a sanction from the ref. Maybe the ref deserved a sanction too for some very poor decisions including the pen.

Well done Slough anyway, snatching a win from the jaws of a draw. I'm biased of course but I thought it was a deserved win. We gave them their goals and they really didn't create an awful lot, especially first half.

That was a satisfying win against an ugly Braintree side and an even uglier and not very pleasant management team who continued to use foul and abusive language for the whole game.

Anyway enough of the moronic Braintree management team and onto the game.

We scored the opening goal from a very good cross which was nicely tucked away by Warren Harris.

Unfortunately within a few minutes we conceded the equalizer and on first viewing I think Jack should have done better.

Our second goal came from another good cross which was met by the head of Ben Harris who made no mistake.

The second equalizer from Braintree was from a debatable penalty when a player went sprawling after a collision with Jack Turner.

It looked very much like a draw until from a goalmouth scramble the ball fell nicely to Ryan Bird to score the winning goal.

Overall I think we were marginally the better side and in the end deservedly got the 3 points.
