Interesting photographs and match reports from when Newport Pagnell Town reached the FA Vase Sixth Round in 2016/17 losing 6-1 at South Shields on Saturday 18 February 2017, Newport Pagnell Town were unfortunate to draw South Shields who were an outstanding team and they went on to lift the trophy that season:

in 1972 they changed their name from Newport Pagnell Wanderers which coincided with a move to Willen Road having previously played at inadequate facilities on Bury Field Common and at the Youth Club in Wolverton Road

For the 1971/72 campaign Newport Pagnell Town had joined Division One of the South Midlands League from the North Bucks League however only played there for two seasons before moving again to the United Counties League. At the end of that 1971/72 season they left the inadequate Youth Club facilities in Wolverton Road for Willen Road which was officially opened on Sunday 9 April 1972 with a friendly fixture against Bletchley Town, the Club had also changed its name that season from Newport Pagnell Wanderers:

Was anybody at this one out of interest, photographs from a 2016 Christmas Day Charity match, at Willen Road on Sunday 25 December 2016, organised in conjunction with the Royal British Legion and their Poppy Appeal, I can imagine that it went down like a lead balloon with wives, girlfriends and parents who had the turkey going cold at home but what a great idea:

The match programme from that 2018/19 FA Vase Fourth Round tie on Sunday 6 January 2019 played at Faversham Town's Salters Lane. Southern Counties East League Premier Division Canterbury City went on to reach the two legged Semi Final that season losing narrowly to Cray Valley PM and beat Biggleswade FC 2-1 at Salters Lane in the Quarter Final:

I believe this was the impressive programme cover for the unfortunately postponed Newport Pagnell Town v Sleaford Town 2014/15 United Counties League Premier Division fixture on Saturday 31 January 2015. The game was rescheduled for Saturday 28 March 2015 which Newport Pagnell Town won 4-1 with goals from Darryl Smith, Tariq Nikoi-Kotey and a brace from Dominic Lawless:

Unfortunately both the SSML and United Counties League seasons have been 'curtailed' as was announced this week, the United Counties League are currently preparing supplementary competitions for all Divisions based on information it has received from its Club's following the questionnaire exercise conducted prior to the disappointing announcement by the FA on Wednesday that Steps 3-6 will be curtailed. This applies to the Reserve side of Newport Pagnell Town who ply their trade in the Reserve Division of the United Counties League where they were lying in a healthy fifth place prior to the curtailment after just ten League fixtures with four games in hand of leaders Desborough Town Reserves. Additionally they were the only remaining unbeaten side in the division, having won eight and drawn two of those ten fixtures with an impressive eight consecutive wins including 6-0 Willen Road drubbings of Wellingborough Whitworth Reserves and Lutterworth Athletic Reserves and handing a 6-2 lesson to Milton Keynes Irish Reserves, also at Willen Road:

An article from the Melton Times regarding the curtailed United Counties League campaign, I assume that the Reserve Division will have its own supplementary competition and Newport Pagnell Town Reserves will be keen to take part:

United Counties League have cup competition they can 'set up right away' if clubs want to play on | Melton Times

United Counties League clubs have been given until March 12 to decide whether they want to play a supplementary competition to round off the curtailed season

An announcement on the United Counties League Reserve Division which Newport Pagnell Town Reserves participate in, I wonder why the Club have decided against entering the Cup Competition:

Update on the United Counties League Reserve Division
Thank you all for responding to the survey issued at the end of February. The decision of member Club's is that the Reserve Division League programme is to be curtailed with immediate effect and this decision was reported to the League Board this evening. The votes cast were 17 in favour of curtailment and 2 in favour of a Points per Game method of determining League placings.
There are 8 Club's who wish to participate in a Cup Competition and further information on how this will be organised, along with fixture arrangements, will follow in about 10 days time once I have all the replies to the Premier Division/Division One survey which are due by Friday 12 March, initial responses that I have received confirm that sufficient Club's from those Divisions will also wish to participate in Cup Competition(s).
The eight Club's who wish to participate in the Reserve Cup Competition are as follows:
Bourne Town, Bugbrooke St Michaels, Harborough Town, Lutterworth Athletic, Milton Keynes Irish, Northampton ON Chenecks, Rothwell Corinthians and Yaxley.

A Newport Pagnell Town team photo from 2012/13 when they plied their trade in the United Counties League Premier Division, finishing a respectable sixth that season. In the FA Cup the Club reached the First Qualifying Round losing 3-2 at Southern League Division One Central Chalfont St Peter (see report) having beaten Reading Town and Ardley United and in the FA Vase they disappointingly exited when entering at the Second Round proper stage to Essex Senior League Enfield 1893, 2-1 at Willen Road (see report):

Willen Road is looking in pristine condition isn't it ahead of the eagely awaited return to football and Newport Pagnell Town's Gladwish SSML Spring Cup group fixture with Biggleswade United next Saturday (10 April) which will be streamed live by the hosts:

Newport Pagnell Town don't seem to have any gripes about moving to the United Counties League Premier Division South, unlike some Club's, anyway they were there between 1973/74 until 2018/19 before briefly joining the SSML:

This is surprising isn't it, Newport Pagnell Town have joined Biggleswade United and Potton United in appealing against their placing in the United Counties League Premier Division South. I thought the Club would be more than happy as they were distinguished members of the United Counties League for many years, between 1973/74 and 2018/19, prior to joining the SSML, how strange:
