Canvey have made it impossible to get excited about who? wins the league or who? will come second

So looking ahead from a neutral position how do you see the first years conference south going

Not knowing much about clubs from other leagues or the likely lads to drop from conference-1 it could be interesting watching the progress of likely candidates such as Grays who only appear to need consistency and Thurrock who are maybe 2-3 players short

Carshalton are moving in the right direction but would need a heavy recruitment in the summer

Hornchurch may need a further 2 seasons

Now hold a minute there Pabird. There may well be an air of confidence on the Park Lane terraces, but I don't think too many fans are making plans for 'when we are in the Conference' just yet. Having had promotion in the sights for the last three seasons I think someone summed up the present situation pretty well when they said that we wouldn't consider ourselves certain until we were 20 points clear - with two games to go.

Other fans from different clubs may want to speculate, I think we will enjoy our football while we sup our ale, munch our burgers and keep relatively calm. No arrogance, no cockiness, no giving it large; until after we play Hornchurch on the last day of the season.

Rumour is that we have a bar extension until 1:00am. Just in case <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

im with merv pa.. im already nervous about dropping any points this weekend.. thurrock look good and grays coming on strong .. we still have to play them twice.. could be tough and losing to stimmo just isnt on the agenda right..? im bringing a west ham n [****!!****] fan to grays for our game there.. show em what a proper footy game and atmosphere is all about

We cannot even think of the conference yet as a 4 or 5 game bad spell and we are right back in the pack. Still a long long way to go. Believe the biggest threat now could be Grays and especially as Canv has mentioned we have to play them twice. Just hoping that everyone stays focused, look who we have next, try to win then move on to the next.
