littlehampton
As most Towners will be aware, the Draw for the Third Qualifying Round of the FA Trophy was made yesterday, and the 39th ball out of the bag landed us a home tie against Kent side Ramsgate, who compete in the Isthmian League South East Division. This match will be played at the Queen Elizabeth II Stadium on Saturday 31st October KO; 3.00pm. The match will be decided on the day. There will be no extra time or replay, in the event of scores being level at ninety minutes, the match will proceed immediately to penalties, to decide the winners and who progresses to the next round. We look forward to extending a warm welcome to The Rams and their supporters for this important match. The winners of this cup-tie will pick up £2450, losers £625. Should be quite a game. Don't miss it! Keep an eye on the main website for match ticket availability news. See you there. COYT
littlehampton
Plenty has been said over the past week about our disappointing second half showing at Carshalton last weekend, but no comments have yet been posted on this forum, about our FA Trophy match tomorrow against Ramsgate, at the Queen Elizabeth II Stadium. This match promises to be a very competitive cup-tie, and we need to be up for it if we are to progress. Whilst most Town supporters understand the history of our club, and where we have come from, a few others still expect us to win just because we are Enfield. Would that it was that simple ! No club has a divine right to success, but with our good home record this season, there is every reason to be optimistic and believe we can win this match. It certainly won't be a stroll in the park, but if our guys play with pride, passion and commitment, we will avoid a banana skin, and guarantee our place in the next round draw on Monday. Let's hear your thoughts on the match, team selection, likely outcome, etc and let's all get right behind our players, from start to finish, with plenty of noisy vocal support, and help them secure the win we all want. Good luck to Andy and the boys. ' UP THE TOWN '
Wildlife rescue
I am a little worried No Skipper(Suspended) No Nathan (Injured) but we have just signed a very good keeper Possibly no holding midfield play if Scott Thomas is out injured and who knows if Billy will be available. The True Towner bull dog spirit will get us through though I'm sure. COYT.
Raingod
Big day today - shame I can't be there .. As WR says lots of players missing, but we have a stronger squad depthwise than in previous few seasons. Ramsgate are a league below but will be looking at our mixed form and coming into the game with confidence. I would like to see - HJ come straight into the back line. - An attacking approach with a proper 2nd striker alongside Billy and 2 wide players as well. .. take the game to them .. dont't want the lottery of penalties after Peterboro .. - Taaffe start if fit Bring your singing voices to the game and help them to victory! The Crowing Cockerel
You can only beat whats put in front of you, but Ramsgate were very very poor. I'm not complaining though as its nice to win, bag some prize money and its not often you score 8! Thought Neville worked hard, made a nuisance of himself and linked up well with Billy at times. Also thought Josh had another good game. Harold Joseph looked solid at the back and even liked what I saw of Dan Lincoln. So, into the next round - WHENEVER THAT MIGHT BE?!! The Donkey Dome remains a fortress!
Wildlife rescue
Always liked Dan Lincoln very good goal keeper. Agree though taking nothing away from the town but Ramsgate were extremely poor. Onwards and upwards.
