vs Welling

We gave some poor goals away! That free kick goal seemed to have just about clinched it, except that once Lench and then Worsfold joined the fray we looked like creating something and so it proved! Still 2 points dropped though or should that be 1 point gained?!

Well it’s obviously a point gained as the game should have been dead at 1-4. Not so sure before the game you could call this a home win. Just frustrating now there’s a 2 week break, although on the other hand it should mean some players recover from knocks, we may be able to sign one or two plus work on things in training.

Should of been four down at half time also five down half way through 2nd half. Could of even nicked it ref could of given us a pen goalie on Wazza sam and birdy two good headed chances they put over near the end.

So funny I was shouting at the screen when they scored the fourth come slough we are playing Merthyr nearly was.

Great credit to the team never lie down what a difference Matt and Max made when coming on.

Also do we have a new physio hope Alex is ok.

Mixed feelings about this one Coming back from 1-4 down has to be considered an achievement Being 1-4 down in the first place suggests  some  sloppy defensive play again Still its 1 more  point and a break that will enable a few players to recover from injury and others to hone fitness imo.

How was the stream today? Keen to hear any feedback as the FCV guys are training me up on the software being used so hopefully was all good today!

Stream good & uninterrupted, picture quality not HD but not sure if I should be expecting that. Definite improvement over Bath game (no 2nd half juddering).

Being 4-1 down it's definitely a point gained.

Our defending at the moment is calamitous to say the least.

Great comeback and credit to the players but there is no doubt we were given a helping hand when Welling had a player sent off at 2-4.

As I've said before we have some skillful players in midfield but we are lacking that solidness in central midfield that a fit Lee Togwell gives us.

Morning all.  Well that 94th minute equaliser certainly improved my Saturday evening yesterday.

I'd just like to make a couple of points.

Firstly, I found the streaming to be almost perfect.

I had one occasion on the 2nd minute mark when my screen froze. The picture restarted with 2 minutes 40 seconds on the clock, which was just before Welling's first goal.

After that it was faultless. Well done to those involved.

I feel so hesitant to make my second point. It feels the same as saying something that isn't complimentary about Father Christmas or Bambi.

It just isn't done.

It concerns one of the best assets the club has got.

Ade.

Errrrr...................is Ade trying too hard to be impartial and unbiased in his commentaries?

There, I've said it now and may God have mercy on my soul for doing so.

I posted a  comment on this forum after the Bath City FA Cup game that I was surprised that Ade seem to downplay to a considerable degree what I (and other people too ) thought was a very good first half display from the Rebels.

During yesterday's match I have to say my jaw dropped at some of the things Ade said in his commentary. A couple that I remember went along the lines of

" You'd be better off looking at "Bakeoff" than watching Slough Town in the second half "   and

" Any Welling fans watching this, contact your mates who aren't to tell them to start watching because your team is likely to score a hatful of goals against Slough in the time that's remaining in this game".

These quotes are not exactly verbatim but they were definitely along those lines.

There were other "similar" comments made too.

For me, as long as Ade doesn't "Boo" when the opposition score or "cheer"  when the opposition  have a man sent off, that's as unbiased as he needs to be !

It isn't necessary to denigrate your team to show that you are unbiased and neutral.

I do wonder if Ade and all the other clubs match commentators have been given instructions by the League that if the clubs provide a streaming service for their fans then the commentary  must not be unduly biased or one sided.

There,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I've said it. ( Gulp.)

I'll get my coat.

Not really sure I agree with your view HR.

Firstly when watching a game people will see and view things differently and opinions will differ.

Rather than trying to be unduly unbiased or one sided I think Ade commentates and just gives his honest views on a game as he sees it. If the opposition or indeed Slough are playing really poorly or he thinks it's a nasty foul by a Slough player or a penalty to the opposition he won't fudge the issue he'll just give an honest opinion on what he's seen which is certainly something I like and appreciate.

I agree with you Reading Rebel. I think Ade is doing a fantastic job. I can appreciate the point Holyport Rebel is making but all of us fans shouldn't expect too much from Ade, as he's not a professional commentator. I prefer him to be unbiased and give his honest views, with his tongue in cheek humour. I haven't watched the streaming service yet but I do listen to RebelsRadio and am grateful for Ade's service for the club and our fans. Keep up the sterling work, I say.  A one sided biased commentary would have me switching off.

Holyprt Rebel you must watch the Kettering playoff final again there commentators were so biased and dull from build up till when Jonny Dyer scored then they changed when they could see the direction of the game was going against them.

Yet still had the nerve to say at the end Kettering were beaten by an average Slough side.

Not the type of commentary for me.

You have to give credit to the opposition if deserved.
