Slough v Bath (FA Cup 3rd Qualifying Round)

Reading Rebel

Recommended Posts

First half we had the better of the chances with the Bath keeper making some good saves keeping the scores level.

Two of the best chances in the first half for Bath came from some poor defensive play.

Second half was again pretty insipid from us. We were getting into some good positions but let down by some poor crossing.

I think we had one shot on target in the second half and again the Bath keeper made a good save.

I don't think Bath were any great shakes but the bottom line is we are out of the FA Cup courtesy of a really poor defensive mistake.

That rule where player comes off with physio and opposition start play and you are still down to ten needs looking at we got caught with that in the 1st half. And I missed the goal.

It was brought in to stop players feigning injury and time wasting.

It has been amended once already to a fouled player doesn't have to go off if the offending player is booked.

So our player was feigning and wasting injury twenty yards from our goal leaving us down to ten players when they are allowed to start play and attack our goal i hope you are joking.

I could hear our managers shouting at the ref to allow him back on.

I found the streaming to be excellent in the first half, but, as Reading Rebel says, was "blurry" in the 2nd half when the camera moved, which was often obviously. It was still watchable though, which it hasn't been on previous occasions.

I have to say that I was surprised at Ade's comments during  the first half and at half time.. It sounded as though he didn't enjoy our first half performance and that it was a dull first 45 minutes.

Everyone has their own opinion of course, but I thought we played some very nice fluent football first half, and that it was an entertaining first 45 minutes.

Was it just me ?

Ok firstly the stream, massive improvement in terms of it not going offline so well done for sorting that. I didn’t notice it so much first half but the whole of the second half as it’s been mentioned every single time the camera moved the image was a combination of juddering and blurred which did make it difficult to follow. Not sure why this would happen one half to the next, was it to do with the rain? Onto the match obviously bitterly disappointed to lose and miss out on vital prize money. I thought we played well in spells and created enough chances to win.

That's the stupidity of the rule.

IMO It should be left to the discretion of the ref and last night our player was obviously not feigning injury and pretty sure the ref wouldn't have made him leave the pitch.

Agree with you HR.

We did play some good football in the first half making Bath look quite ordinary. Unfortunately we failed to put away any of our chances.

Second half was a different matter.

Bath improved and our overall 2nd half performance wasn't good enough.

After Saturday's poorly defended goals we then go and make another really poor mistake at the back to gift Bath the game.

Bath City home to Havant & Waterlooville next round

What a terrible draw had Slough got through. Neil said Slough would have to do it the hard way, when our club drew Dartford and Bath City but I don't suppose he thought Havant was going to be next !
