Ok to clear this up

Chairman is Mike Lightfoot and Vice Chairman is Craig Edwards

Owners Mike L, Craig E, Kay Lathey and John Porter

Steering committee oversees all financial areas and direction club takes off the field

Operation committee oversees all match day and day to day issues of the club

Since moving to AP , this club has seen steady increase in Season Ticket holders including Juniors, attendance increasing each year, additional teams added including boys, girls, community, ladies and U23. Every year we get more and more involved with the community, remember we hosted Sloughs homeless for Xmas lunch last year.

In Bakes & Unders we have a fantastic management who see what we do off the pitch and are ambitious on the pitch

My question, why are people so negative towards this football club?

Chairmanship is clearly quoted on the clubs website and ownership on companies house.

And as for "love & comerdes" it is not me who is asking when the managers will leave but you! - from your post above "That is why I can see Bakes and Unders leaving the club within the next two seasons." Posted Thursday at 19:50.

Great to see a moderator attacking other members on here - just following your lead.

My right to reply.

Firstly SR1965, you came onto the forum and provoked a reaction by saying 'what utter tosh is uttered on this forum' when views were being discussed.

Secondly, it doesn't make a blind bit of difference whether I'm a moderator or a fan[who's not a moderator] posting, my opinions will be the same. This forum as far as I'm aware is independent of the club and as such is for the Slough fans to voice their opinions and ask questions about the club.

Thirdly, talking about the set-up of the club's board and finances is relevant to this current time, and as I had been approached by a number of fans [in the last couple of months] wanting to know how the club is cash rich with no obvious financial benefactor behind the club?  Me being an honest straight forward man, I decided it best to ask this question on the forum, as I'm not in touch with any club officials. Now RebelAde has put up a post explaining the situation[ 95% of which I knew anyway] but it appears other members didn't, hence why I felt the need to ask the question, firstly to Reading Rebel, who happened to be veering on to the subject. To me the club never fully explained how the club would function without Steve Easterbrook's backing. Now they have. If everything is clear and out in the open, these confusions wouldn't arise.

Fourthly, my view about Bakes and Unders leaving within two seasons is my opinion. It is no different to if I was a member of the Tottenham Hotspur forum and said I can see Jose Mourinho leaving in two seasons. Managers in football either get the sack, resign or decide to leave for another club, usually to better themselves.

My view is Bakes and Unders have done a fantastic job for Slough and because of this fact they are going to be in hot demand by other clubs, ones that are currently higher up and with larger budgets. Our managers have made it no secret that they aspire to manage as high as they can. What's wrong with that? I certainly don't begrudge them that, when they decide the time is right.

I feel our club[ yours SR1965, and mine, and all the Slough fan base] still needs to find it's feet, without Steve Easterbrook's influence at the helm. The club feels like it's in a temporary, transitional stage. Myself, I tend towards having realistic aims. I don't see it as a negative, if Slough don't aim for promotion to the National League. As was pointed out by GlenSTFC and Curtis on this very thread, if Slough cannot attract crowds of 1,000 to 1,500 on a regular basis, then our club would be extremely unwise to persist in this falsehood that they can afford to play in the National League. Currently I view the Conference South and Step 3 as Slough's best position, given the nature of the club's board/set up. The truth is Bakes and Unders, who have been great ambassadors for our club and been extremely loyal, will outgrow Slough Town FC. I dont  see anything wrong in saying that. Managers come and managers go but it's OUR club that is the most important thing to fans, well it ought to be, and it is to me. Slough will carry on and will take a new direction, sometimes it's for the best to have a fresh approach. I'm not for one minute advocating for Slough to sack Bakes and Unders, as I'm no fool and know how good they are for our club but things at clubs always change, and really it will inevitably come down to who the club can afford, WHEN Bakes and Unders get an offer they can't refuse.

Now, I hope that clears the air and any confusion that my posts may have caused.

The only question I would ask any supporter, would Slough be able to attract 1,000 to 1,500 supporters if we were in the National League?

As someone else has alluded to once you're in the NL all forms of income would normally increase.

OK we might not have a Chairman with money at this present time but I'm sure with the right managers in place to attract the right players who don't cost the earth IMO staying in the NL would be well achievable.

I would think in a NL South promotion season we would attract an average of close to 1,000. Even in a struggling first NL season we’d attract more home fans plus much larger away followings so would be confident of increasing that average to 1,200-1,300.

I would hope so, too but the crowds at Wexham Park for our league games[when first in the Conference] were not very consistent. I have the 1991[gives the Vauxhall Opal league figures before promtion] and 1993 Non League Club Directories[1993 gives our second season in the Conference] and looking at those attendances for 1992 they fluctuate from 823 for our first match at home to Kidderminster, next home was against ex league club Colchester with an attendance of 2,226 and our next home game against Runcorn which only attracted 799,we then played Telford and got 877. Our next home match came after FA Cup games and Bob Lord trophy matches, when we played Barrow and only got a crowd of 611. In October we played Redbridge Forest and got 910 and on October 26th, an FA Cup 4th qualifying match against local rivals Kingstonian, which drew 990. November the 2nd we were at home to Witton in the league and got 610. Nov 9th at home to Welling and got 907.

Now I'm not going to go through the whole of that season,as it is not that relevant [but overall the attendances were disappointing except for the bigger matches against Wycombe and few other top teams, and some Fa cup games].

I would say that was then and this is now, Slough have a fairly new ground and so far attendances have seen a steady rise but not spectacular one. The profile of our club has grown immensely since we moved back into the town and by and large the seasons at Arbour Park have been a success. Coronavirus is certainly not going to help our situation and we may have to bide our time with our promotion hopes for awhile but all in all,the club looks in a stronger position than many others currently, so it's not all doom and gloom.

We have had seasons with average league attendances of 783 & 842 where we challenged for play-offs until the final match & then last season made the play-offs. So attendances are growing but probably still at least a couple seasons off of averaging 1,000 even if we do challenge for promotion.

And promotion to the National League would, as you say, result in an increase in attendances of something like 20%.
