On Ollie Bayliss Twitter:-

‘I understand the National League has assured clubs they will receive their first instalment of funding next week.
Clubs will also be given details next week of how the money will be allocated between the teams.‘

If true, what is it with this Ollie Bayliss always seeming to be the first to announce these developments?
Do the National League use him as their Press Release Manager?

Don't know but you would like to think that the NL would tell their member clubs first rather than hearing it from a secondary source.

Either way it's been over two weeks since the NL knew the amount of money they would be receiving from the government and it seems they still haven't worked out how much each club is going to get.

It's not as if clubs are desperately relying on this money to pay players and pay their bills.

I just hope whatever amount each club gets x67 adds upto the amount given by the government... ?

You would hope we’d see a decent 5 figure payment by this time next Saturday. Should hopefully pay the wages for a few months and maybe leave some to add a new player or two ?

It would be a surprise if Ollie Bayliss didnt get good knowledge of what's going on Hes a BBC sports journalist and researcher especially regarding Non League matters

I recommend you visit his Twitter page and watch Oliver Dowden  explain why we cant go to watch the Rebels Apparantly the "quantum" wont allow it.

Confirmed via Ollie that we’ll receive £30,000 per month for 3 months. That’s more than I expected and I would suspect the club will be satisfied with that amount. Hopefully it’ll allow us to sign 1 or 2 now. Let’s really hope this funding doesn’t need to extend beyond 3 months...

You are right that it is a good amount and I can see us almost saving some for the eventuality that its needed beyond...

Whilst this is obviously helpful, we have been 6 months without any income, plus there is no guarantee of what may happen after 3 months, so we will not be going out splashing the cash....

Whilst we all want to be successful and get promoted, we will not do so at the detriment of the club long term, and that is where we probably differ from most managers out there.

That is not to say that if we can improve within reason we won’t, as of course we will.

100% as it should be Neil. Currently so many clubs are struggling financially, this has to be a survival (as in the club still exists at the end of the season as opposed to "relegation") for so many clubs without those big benefactors (and even some of them it would seem) that pragmatic and sensible approach that you and Jon have always shown are exactly what we need as a club right now?

The objections of Hereford and Chester seem to be based on a fixed amount being paid regardless of support last season Our payment is worth nearly £36 per spectator based on average home gates  Hereford and Chester  dont make £18 per spectator  Hungerford get £92 per spectator.

We have to remember as Neil pointed out the club have had next to no income for 6 months so in reality we’re getting £90,000 for 9 months which is below what we could expect to earn each month.

No income but with players not being paid our outgoings would have been a lot less for some of those months.
