Shaq Coulthirst, ex Barnet.

I thought it might have been someone who had played regularly at a much higher level & was more of a prolific scorer, because there aren’t many players who have scored hat tricks against us (even in a full 90 minutes) in the last 7 years.

But has obviously hit good pre-season form to have earnt a contract at Boreham Wood.

We are in for a tough game on Saturday going by the Weymouth managers comments He says they will not be treating the game as a friendly but as an away league game Hes proud of their pre season performances  all wins apart from a 1-1 draw on Tuesday against EFL 2 club Exeter.

No such thing as a friendly game.

I don't doubt the Weymouth manager will want to win as should any manager or player.

Why call them 'friendlies' if there isn't such a thing !

I get what you mean but it's a rather sweeping statement, given that some friendly matches turn out to be more like a training work-out than anything else, both teams sitting off each other and no huge commitment or heavy tackles.

Against Weymouth I'm expecting a good test for both sides. This should provide a clearer picture of where our squad is for the start of the season. As a guess on the outcome of the match I'm going for a 1-2 defeat. Hate saying Slough will lose but I'm going on current form.

I suppose they're called friendlies because there is nothing riding on the outcome.

In the vast majority of pre-season games I've seen over the years I'm pretty certain most players have put the effort in and wanted to win.

They might not go into a challenge/tackle 100% all the time but nevertheless they still want to win and are disappointed if they lose.

I was nearly right with today's scoreline, except both teams doubled what I said ! ?
