Oh dear.

Really trying to think of some positives from the game and the one I've managed to come up with is that Ollie McCoy looked quite lively when he came on.

Conceded 7 but in truth it really should have been a lot more.

Not at the races from the first whistle to the last and it really did look like men against boy's.

Positive it was only 7! Shows the gulf between a top half NLS side and a promotion chasing NL one. Was always going to be a tough test against a full time side but it seemed more of a training match for BW and they probably didn’t really learn much from it. But it’s just a friendly and we’ve got 3 matches to sort issues out and hopefully be ok for the first competitive game. On a side note I see we’ve already marked all the seats with a tick or cross with regards where to sit. I saw Margate had taken my idea on board and placed white crosses on all standing areas.

BW were a big strong physical side who should be somewhere around the play-offs.

No disgrace to lose to them but having said that each individual players performance on the night was so poor it really has to be a one off.

I've every confidence they will put this behind them and step up to the plate on Saturday against Weymouth.

On a side note I was surprised we didn't have any trialists at the game.

We had 6 trialists at Bracknell and only 1 has shown enough to still be with us. There may well have been more at training sessions too. I was hoping (although there’s still time) another forward option would have been on show.

One positive is that we won't come up against a team of that standard this season in the NLS! Can't really take much from friendlies as different teams have different aims ie; fitness, formation/tactics experimentation etc. It was a disappointing scoreline and we didn't offer much of a threat going forward but hopefully this can be rectified over the next couple of games.

I think most teams have the same aims in pre-season games: Fitness, formations/tactics and looking at trialists etc.

Whilst BW did look impressive I think you might agree that on the night with so many of our players under performing it's difficult to say how good they really are.

According to his cv Louis Lomas is predominantly a central defender but is versatile and can play in a few positions.

Is he left footed?

Yeh what I meant was where we are at with our preparations compared to BW and how much emphasis they put on winning the game. I don't think I've ever seen/heard a manager bark orders for the whole 90 minutes like Luke Garrard!

I agree that you can't get a true reflection of how good they are from last night's performance, but their league position last season doesn't lie and I was particularly impressed with their power and physicality.

I'm sure both teams wanted to win regardless of it being a pre-season game.

The obvious advantage for them is that they are full time and did look a lot fitter and sharper.

Luke Garrard is always barking orders from the side lines regardless of whether it's a pre-season game or in the league.
