I see that of the SSML Club's in action next week in the FA Cup, Baldock Town, Park View, Harpenden Town, Crawley Green, London Lions and London Colney all meet sides from the Essex Senior League whereas only Biggleswade United and Arlesey Town lock horns with sides from the Eastern Counties League:

This is a lot to take in isn't it, every tie isn't being played next Tuesday though as there will be some where home Club's share a ground such as AFC Dunstable v Hallen and Dunstable Town v Thame Rangers for example:

It goes from bad to worse for the FA Cup this coming season doesn't it, what other stipulations are going to added. What's wrong with playing extra time in the Qualifying Round stages, fans are going to feel short changed not being able to see an extra half an hours play and then penalties if still required:

1. Qualifying Rounds: no extra time (penalties after 90 minutes)

2. Competition Proper: extra time & penalties (no replays)

3. If a club can't play a tie in the qualifying rounds for covid reasons, the tie will be awarded

Two big teams aren’t they? I imagine that’s why they were chosen. Probably hoping Jamie Vardy will do a bit on his time at Stocksbridge and or Chris Waddle. Stalybridge were in the football league for a couple seasons early in their history. Shame they don’t think outside the box and give that exposure to smaller teams.

Lincoln United have had to forfeit their Preliminary Round tie at West Bridgford on Saturday due to a number of players testing positive for Covid-19:

As reported and updated yesterday the men's senior section of the club has unfortunately suffered from a Covid-19 outbreak. We have been working closely with Public and Environmental Health in order to ensure the club follows guidelines to contain the spread of the virus, prioritise health and ensure our facilities are safe to use.

We had hoped that our FA Cup fixture against West Bridgford FC could go ahead this Saturday, however working with Environmental Health the decision was made that, due to the number of positive tests within our senior men's section, we are considered a "Covid-19 Outbreak" and therefore we are unable to fulfil the fixture. Due to the nature of the FA Cup, the game is unable to be postponed, meaning the men's first team are out of this season's competition.

The club can confirm there have been no further confirmed Covid-19 cases at the club since the initial outbreak of 8 players, and stress the decision to not play in this Saturday's fixture, is following the advice from Public and Environmental Health, and not due to any further positive tests within the club.

Lincoln United FC wishes to thank the staff at Public and Environmental Health for their support and advice during the last few days.

Whilst this news is of course disappointing, we hope to see our 8 players who have unfortunately tested positive fit and well soon and wish West Bridgford FC the very best in the next round.
