It was a great title race last season going right to wire. Good to see Real Bedford starting well and ex MK Irish players Shaheim and Ty getting some minutes in the process.
Another good result against Levy yesterday as well

IrishRover - Welcome back and thanks for posting, you must have been deeply disappointed that Milton Keynes Irish missed out on promotion last season after finishing seventeen points ahead of Leverstock Green in the regular season and also twenty four points ahead of FC Romania who inexplicably beat you 3-0 at Manor Fields in the Play-Off Semi Final.

Yes of course disappointed but also extremely proud. We ran Real Bedford to the very end on a shoe string budget in comparison. Ultimately the playoffs are a toss of the coin and Levy were well deserved winners over their 2 playoff games.

Terry Shrieves has added lots of experience and depth to the squad for this seasons campaign and so far its been a really promising start. That being said it is only a start and with 27 games to play its going to be an exciting season to see how it plays out.

It was a 2-1 win on Saturday afternoon and safely through to the next round of the FA Vase.

With the draw carried out on Monday afternoon it’s a local trip away to previous winners Newport Pagnell Town on October 21st.

Irish are back in league action this Saturday when they host Winslow United at Manor Fields.

IrishRover - That's arguably the worst draw Milton Keynes Irish could have got isn't it after having it all their own way so far in the competition and drawing two SSML Division One Club's in previous rounds.

Arguably the worst draw? How have you come to that conclusion? Should be a great game, a local derby against a side who in recent years have been excellent in the FA Vase. I’m sure it’ll be a great tie on October 21st at Willen Road.

IrishRover - Well what I mean is you could have drawn another Step 6 Club at home, or away for that matter, and sailed through to the Second Round of the competition as you did at Wellingborough Whitworth and Irchester United, instead you drew a local Step 5 side away who, as you say, are FA Vase specialists having got to two recent Finals. Anyway good luck on Saturday 19 October according to this graphic:

BIG 3 POINTS!

Last nights hard-fought 2-1 win away against London Lions has secured MK Irish at least a playoff place in the Spartan Prem this season.

With 7 games remaining Irish only need another 8 points to wrap up the title. The earliest it could be done will be at Home to Kempston Rovers on 22nd March.

Yes, that's right, just one League defeat at Tring Athletic in January and four draws at Harpenden Town, Biggleswade United, Cockfosters and surprisingly at home to Winslow United:

Winslow probably should’ve won that game but Irish could’ve nicked it at the end too. Terry is a top fella and they’ve been relentless, only surprise is they didn’t have a great vase run.

Yes, it was a great game at Manor Fields on Saturday 28 September with Winslow United leading 2-0 through Simon King and Charlie Rowe before two Milton Keynes Irish substitutes, Bruno Brito and Cameron O'Neil, scored late on, Sports Shots were in attendance:

Back at home tomorrow for MK Irish as they host Baldock Town. Only a few weeks ago it was a 3-1 away win vs Baldock. No doubt the Baldock squad may look slightly different for a midweek fixture and include a couple of duel reg players who are looking for minutes from levels above.

Irish know it will be another tough test. The run in continues and with 7 games to go every game counts!

Another big home win last night with a 5-1 win over Baldock Town. 13 wins from 14 home games this season Irish's home form has been phenomenal.

The win takes Irish to within 4 points of the league title. If Tring drop points Saturday against Potton United and MK Irish beat Winslow away the title will be won on Saturday afternoon!

It all gears up for a big derby game at Elmsfields Gate on Saturday. Irish will travel in numbers hoping to secure the league title at their nearest rivals.

I’d expect Irish to seal the title on Saturday, should be a decent crowd too. Hopefully the helicopter is on standby with the trophy. Will be interesting to see how they get on next season. Always liked Terry.

Lots need to happen for `Irish to win the title Saturday. Winslow are a very good side at home, taking 3 points will be difficult. Also relying on Potton to not lose to Tring. Potton have lost influential players in recent weeks with Jordan Brown and Cole Butler both moving on.

I suspect it may be Kempston at home on the 22nd.

Southern league will be a challenge for sure. Just look how Leverstock Green have struggled this season. Terry will be ambitious but I suspect just staying up next season will be the goal.

Winslow will need to be a hell of a lot better than last week to even be competitive. I’m sure if the results go Irish’s way there will be more than a few at Winslow happy to toast Terry with a few beers.

I knew it would be a tough ask to win and Winslow and that it was. Up there with one of the most boring games of football I've ever watched. Little to no quality from either side. Irish will rue the missed penalty for sure.

1 point required now to win the league. Avoid defeat at home to Kempston on Saturday 22nd and it will be done.

Yeah I heard it wasn’t great. Winslow were likely to not be a goal threat with Aaron King missing. Not many clean sheets either this year. Decent crowd.

Only delays celebrations a touch in reality.
