sorry guys / gals, what have I missed? £5.00 entry to what the game? thought behind closed doors. missing something obviously ;)

I think this announcement was only made on Thursday 19th August :-

From Saturday 21st August, clubs at steps three to six of non-league – in other words, those directly below the National Leagues North and South – will be able to fill up to 15% of their stadiums. The same will apply to clubs at steps three to four of the women’s game, which is National League-level. As of 31st August, the ratio will increase to 30%.

As it is the 1st game back with possibly trialists involved will the game be 3 x 30 minutes or still 2 x 45 minutes.

It will be 2x45 as normal.

We have a 19 man squad tomorrow with 14 of the 15 who have currently signed (Lenchy is away) and then 5 triallists.

But playoff clubs wanted to be considered "elite" earlier in the summer so the playoffs could be played after being told step 2 wasn't elite football. Can't pick and choose when to be one side of the line or the other.

Exactly, we used this argument to encourage the NL to have play-offs at our level. Can't have our cake and eat it.

I think we've been through this already.

Yes, we wanted to be called 'elite' to get the play-offs played but the term 'elite' shouldn't imo be used in the context of determining when to let fans into grounds because non league clubs, as opposed to clubs in the premiership, championship etc cannot survive without fans.

Thanks for the insight! ?

? ok are you sitting comfortably?

There were 5 trialists (Joe Gator, Liam Ferdinand, Olly McCoy, Ben Jefford plus another I couldn’t remember). First half was fairly even without there being many on target chances (actually i don’t think we had one on target?). A defensive mistake cost us a goal. We had some moments of decent play but nothing like we’re used to. If the first half was a 5/10 then the second half was probably a 3/10. Poor passing, hardly any attaching threat, Bracknell were first to many balls and naturally I guess fitter as they’re further along their preparations. Overall disappointing performance and result but it’s our first friendly so I’m not overly concerned but lots to work on in training and I’m sure we’ll see a response on Tuesday.

Ben Jefford left back from Oxford City. Looked knackered second half having played the full 90 minutes!

Bracknell looked a good side, but way further on in match fitness having played circa 4/5 games already.

On rebels radio I asked the question will the drink breaks still happen for the next season 20/21 . Ade missed my point ok for friendlies i understand but i was asking  will this be the norm for the league campaign.

Certainly hope not. Should be at the refs discretion. What's the point of a drinks break if it's cold, wet and windy.

Poor result and performance but it was our first friendly so nothing to be overly worried about at this stage of pre-season.

The 5th trialists name that Radders mentioned is striker Kingsley Eshun.

Looking at his CV he is 21, a Ghanaian youth international and was a youth player at QPR and Brentford.

He has played at various clubs including St Albans, Dulwich, Berkhamstead, Northwood, Hendon and last season signed for Hartley Wintney.
